please, please, please, please DONT ever bring him back into this team...ship him off to accrington stanley...
The way Drinkwater played today Addison will have dropped down the pecking order........it never seemed a good deal to me, just getting him fit to go back in January
Addison getting injured was a major blessing in disguise for us. He's poor, immobile and made of glass so send him back to Derby.
I might be on my own but i think hes a good player and i think we should try and get the best out of him while we have chance cause imo he is a very good player at this level.
Not on your own mate Didn't think he did much wrong in the few games he's played. However if the current 11 play like they did today week in week out, he'll struggle to get back into the team.
Can we not swap him for Brian Howard !!! why Addison regain fitness on our wage books Get Howard back and let Addison go back to Derby and resume his fitness on their wage books
Re: Can we not swap him for Brian Howard !!! why Addison regain fitness on our wage b Assuming (and it's a big assumption) that the middle 3 play as well as they did yesterday on a consistent basis, who would you drop for Howard? The obvious one would be Butterfield and that seems very harsh to me. Howard played out wide would be a waste. Sadly he'll never return anyway imho.
Send him back to the average Championship club he's come from, why do we need him? same with the Boro loanee as well!
Either use Addison at Centre Half, or send him back. Cameron Park hasn't been on the field yet so that's abit harsh!
Addison would be better at CB, no doubting his strength and power, just not quick or mobile enough for CM.
I think he's a good player when just sitting in front of the back 4 He protects the defence well. Thing is though, we don't need a player simply sitting in front of the back four, as yesterday proved. Drinkwater and Perkins protected the back four admirably and they also offered far more mobility, better passing and a lot more going forward than Addison.
he doesnt/didnt protect the back 4 against Boro or Soton. was clearly unfit IMO, hence the subsequent injury in the next fixture (in the blummin warm-up! says it all tbh). however, i agree Jay that we dont need a 'sitter' or holding player, at HOME.. but i feel its a decent tactic away from the 'Well. especially against the better teams. as proved against Reading, and although i dont think we needed it, at Millwall too. but that player needs/has to be mobile. i think its fair to say that Claudè Makelèle was a perfect example of such a player in recent times. a great protective screen in front of the back 4. quick, alert, great passing range and strong in the tackle. unfortunately on what ive seen of Miles thus far, he doesnt have those key qualities. he can tackle, but his lack of agility/mobility even hampers that.. maybe he will be played at the back once fit. i dont like slow center-halves, but i do feel he'd be a great option if Fozzie and Eddy werent available. but i wouldnt drop that pair. they seem to be growing well as a partnership. although, with Eddy now the latest injury absentee, maybe he gets a chance.. id prefer Sir Bob there though. in what is IMO, our ginger princes' strongest position nowadays. oh, and well said earlier Jay. the reply to kahtorse was spot on.
