Re: Over the past few seasons I still don't think its sinking in is it Benny Hill as told you, The Don as told you, the fact we have sold our best player and not spent the money from that sale, and put the price of tickets up 5er as told you, now i'll tell you, where in the sh!te we need as much money as possible if fans continue to stay away i can see another addministraion on the cards here, i don't think they have done this out of greed, or because there out of touch with the fans, and what the people of Barnsley earn, its been done as a last throw of the dice to try and keep us a float .
Re: Over the past few seasons 8,756 + (2,106 away) compared to last season v's leicester 10,053 + (2,307 away) add the fact that there was the sun offer of 2 for £20, it was a gorgeous sunny day and we ain't laiked at home for nearly 4 weeks its shocking! the club membership is in theory a good idea, reality it's a load of ****** to save that £4odd on a cat A game I've either got to go to ground early and get ripped off by the snack prices, yes i know i don't have to, but match day consists of a pie or burger and a pint or 2, plus i don't finish work until around 1pm these days, got to ground yesterday at 2:50 or drive thru midweek to buy ticket, 11 mile round trip + an hour of my time or book online and get stung by the card charge! also who worked out the categories? no disrespect to them, but bristol city, millwall, brighton, blackpool maybe even ipswich!! it'll be interesting to see the gates when we play bristol city then hull a few days after, £18 each for kids at comp! for fux sake barnsley, get real! time to do some thinking to try and tempt fans in because the watford game will do well to hit 9k, i wont be there, i will be having a few pints in east mids airport
Re: Over the past few seasons If they had just made matchday tickets £30 in the Ponty (so like for like with away supporters) then they could have kept prices lower for the other 2 remaining stands. Giving people the opportunity to not to be priced out of supporting the Reds. Still not ideal pricing but better than the total confusion and hassle involved at the moment. Another own goal at board level. But then they may be moaners or boo boys so we dont need their money do we, those of you on here that tell folk not to bother attending yet still want unaffordable players.
How many season ticket holders is there? I think they did this cat a business to try and get a few more st holders but its backfired a bit.
Re: Over the past few seasons I don't care who tells me. As much as I love Barnsley Football Club, £30 on a regular basis is too much to pay. I hope and pray administration doesn't happen, but I'm not going to skint myself to stop it. No chance.
7,500. Will it really backfire? the average attendance will be down slighlty but l think the takings will be up over the season. We only averaged about a thousand paying home supporters anyway last season.
Good point that. If we do get in the top half and get some decent away followings we might even be up on ticket revenue. With all the stay aways, who aren't coming because of the extra fiver, saving for next seasons season ticket we should be a lot better off in the future. They are all saving for it aren't they? I would be.
Re: Over the past few seasons There is a lot of truth in what you're saying Jay but it doesn't tell the whole story. I know people, as I am sure do lots of other fans, who can afford to pay to come and watch up to 23 home games a season but for whatever reason they don't bother any more. Sadly most of the people I know who fall into this category seem to be the ones moaning about the quality of players we're buying or that we have no ambition. They just dont see the contradiction in their own argument. I reckon most fans know at least one person who falls into this category and if only 25% of those stay away fans would come back then there is another 2000 on the gate (based on 8000 home fans). It's not a financial decision with all stay away fans.
