What do people think of him now that he has played a few games for us?

As I live in Norway, I don't have the chance to see to many games, so would be nice to get your assessment of him.

I like him - not particularly skillfull but buzzes around breaking up the play. Puts in a 100% every game - will be a good asset to the club

    but without the skill.

I dont know what to make of him or what his role quite is! He certainly runs around a lot, but he does not DO anything that well, but he can certainly run for 90 mins.

I just dont see why he is a regular, I think we could get a better footballer, maybe no-one that can run around so much though.
Anyway I was pleased withe the whole team yesterday and I am not going to put anyone down.

this is another rare occasion where im in agreement with u Phil..

he does do a lot of work off the ball that goes un-noticed. helps to create gaps and space for others.
i suppose he is a bit similar to Sheridan. small but a fighter. left peg.
i tell u what though, when it got to the mysterious 5 mins of added time, i had a look around and noticed a few flagging (understandable considering the effort, and the heat), but Perks looked fresh to me. as if he could play all day.. not bad to say he's my age.
ive been gagging to see him central. and on that display he looked championship quality IMO. better than Lovre, Arismendi, Colace, Togwell..
does need to improve his quality in the final 3rd though. delivery-wise.
there was one key moment in the 2nd half where we broke away 4 on 3 and unfortunately he took far too long to make his mind up on what to do, and when he did knock it in it was pretty poor.. but tbh, the lack of options in the box hardly helped.
all in all though, he looks a fine acquisition on a free. useful squad player at the worst...

I like him, he has energy to burn and doesn't give the opposition any time. Not the most skillful player but he does his job very well and contributes well to the team. I think yesterday was his best game of the season so far.

Looked OK in central midfield yesterday

    Very busy.

Doesn't look any good out on the wing where Hill has played him up until now. Hasn't got the skill.

and also come to think of it...

while he indeed runs about a lot (more O'Connell than Shez), to suggest thats all he does would be pretty harsh. id suggest, that he made more tackles yestdy than Colace did all season last year. dont remember Hugo getting up and down as much either. and id bet Perks earns less than a 3rd of that pillocks wage..
he also had 1 effort at the away end that looked on target but also looked to have been blocked with an arm..
i like him is pretty much what im saying. but then i was 1 of the few who rated Shez and Brendan back in the day so maybe i just like hard-working grafters in my team. they cant all be like Higgy..

First time I've seen the lad play and I was impressed with him, mate. He closed down his opponents & was always available and supportive to his colleagues. He linked up well with Drinkwater & Butterfield in midfield. I dare say others may look to highlight his shortcomings. However, I prefer to concentrate on the positives of a splendid team performance, in which Perkins played a major part.

I like the grafters too, but the other 2 still had more skill than Perkins has, he did a good job yesterday but I think there are better footballers out there, that is my opinion.
Colace was just WA NK last year, not that great before either4, but he scored a few important goals that year.

You're spot on Whitey. A team needs a mixture of players to do well. Butterfield look brilliant yesterday but he can only do his job well with players like Perkins doing the spadework.

Steady away is how I would describe him. Will run all day and doesn't ever really do much wrong, but he is never gonna be a dominant CM in this league. Good signing for a freebie.

    Re: Perkins........good player

I thought he had a cracking game on Saturday, always closing down, making in difficult for the opposition to settle on the ball. I reckon we've got a good little player on our hands there.
