A question for Gally..............

The clubs spot on, l know Watford isn't the most attractive opposition for this fixture but even at the reduced price we will struggle to get 10k.

 

Thing is its okay dropping prices whole scale if you male the masses aware. The club have failed in this over recent seasons.
There is so much a club could do better but doesn't even try.

 

I get the feeling

Most clubs don't have a category system, and just charge a set price for most games. For a lot of championship clubs, charging £28+ is the standard they've done for a while, the likes of Leicester, Derby, Ipswich, Coventry (I think) have been charging it for a while. There only ever seems to be Watford who charges a low price against us.

 

The Club is quite right about the attendances not increasing when they cut prices.

But they only cut prices for the unattractive games and never over a longer period of time to allow attendances to build up.

Try cutting prices for a Cup game against the Sheffield Clubs or Leeds and Oakwell would be packed to the rafters.

This isn't about dropping prices to £15 every game, this is about the fact that £30 has driven thousands of fans away.

 

The fact is, they've given up on attracting Barnsley folk This season & are

Concentrating on fleecing the fans of clubs who bring a few. The c cat games and 1912 club are just loss leaders, paying lip service to the home fans

 

Isn't this something to do with calculating how much people can "save" if they purchase a season ticket?

I might be wrong, but I feel as though the club has given up on "pay on the day" supporters.

 

I believe you're right though in my personal opinion the club could have (and possibly should have) stated that there will be x amount of category A matches, X amount of B and C without actually naming the games. Season ticket holders would know the saving and it would have allowed the club to look at the situation throughout the season and allocate games accordingly.
