"Watford will come here, sit deep, deny us space and try and get the twelfth man, the crowd, to support their strategy, rather than our crowd be patient with our strategy"

Is this another veiled dig at the home fans?

Seems like a statement of fact to me. If Watford have attended our previous home games then I would imagine that is the strategy that they would choose to employ. If I was the Watford gaffer my advice would be to frustrate Barnsley for the first 20 mins and the crowd will start to get on the team's collective back.

Is he not telling it like it has been ?

Probably given up asking us to be patient.

Why would the Barnsley fans support their strategy?
I dont understand how he can think we would! Strange.
But that is exactly how I would set my team up to play against BFC at the minute. Sit and wait for the ball to be passed around in front of us, then counter attack.
Against LCFC they came to try and play football and gave us a chance, against other teams we did not get that chance, so struggled to get anything from the game.
If that is how Hill sees Watford playing, then surely he will have changed the tactics to surprise them! Or is that too logical?

I think he's got a point though. When you play at home you are expected to try to beat the opposition, when you play away from home you try to snatch the win by not conceding (as the home fans get restless).

Hill has said on numerous occasions that we will try to do the same away from home, and I think he's just being honest. Obviously he'll probably have spoken to the team about how to combat negative tactics like that, but he's not exactly going to divulge that to the press is he?

Numerous away teams "park the bus". Don't be surprised if Watford do the same whilst trying to batter us on set pieces/counter attack.

hardly think he means home fans will be supporting Watford, rather that their fans will be behind them and that they will try and frustrate ours

what o think that means is, the reds fans will get on at the team and that will please them. and tthats true.

we the fans will have to get behind the team, the players will have to play with a ergency.v

Mr. Hill is obsessed with 'fans' and how they influence the game, their fans, our fans, FFS ..... in my book he would be better concentrating on something much more simple - like his team getting the ball in the opposition's net more times than they get it in ours ... and ******** to 'the fans'!

PARANOID/ INSECURE or run out of PATIENCE and holding a grudge for ever?. Why does he keep doing it?, does he like winding folk up or what?. He should be focussing on what looks like the beginning of something promising. Probably still throwing back all the snowballs he's had. The sniping should be nipped in the bud NOW.

Was David Flitcroft seen on a grassy knoll or did he get the chauffer driver drunk?

sounds like a bit of reverse psychology, by looking like he's predicting how the fans will react to Watford sitting back, he's hoping the exact opposite will happen ?

He would not need any pschology, all he needs is the team trying their balls off, if we win then great if we draw or lose as long as the fans see that the team is putting a shift in they will be behind them. If the fans think they are being hoodwinked then they will let the team and management know.

Love him or loath him you've got to give him 10/10 for entertainment value.

He's a crafty intelligent bloke is Hill even if its delivered in a foreign lingo.

He's trying to get the fans on his back and off the teams. An absolutly brilliant strategy.
