We were 3-0 up at half time and decided to watch the match from the opposite end for the second half. Rather than walk round, hundreds of us simply climbed over the small wall and walked across the pitch. By the time we got there, I had about five inches of mud on the sole of each boot. On reflection, it wasn't the cleverest thing I've ever done!!

I think Tommy Graham may have scored on his debut, Bell & Clarke?

We used to be able to move around grounds a bit in those days. Remember the likes of Darlington, Scunny(old show ground) Wigan(springfield) and Halifax. We often swelled the attendances at these grounds.

Alistair Millar scored one of them, can't remember the others

Another question. In a different game at Rochdale, a bizarre incident took place involving Peter Springett. Anyone know what it was?

I was knackered by the time we'd got to the half way line and just made it to the opposite end. A few months later, a friend suggested we do the same again away at Halifax. I gave him some advice on sex and travel.

I think you're right about Millar, come to think of it. I can't think of any incident involving Peter Springett.

It was a left foot volley from a narrow angle, as I remember. Can't remember the bandage!
