Rochdale's pitch was like this ........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rysG-jqfEY8&NR=1 We won 3-0 and it absolutely p*ssed it down all day.
We were 3-0 up at half time and decided to watch the match from the opposite end for the second half. Rather than walk round, hundreds of us simply climbed over the small wall and walked across the pitch. By the time we got there, I had about five inches of mud on the sole of each boot. On reflection, it wasn't the cleverest thing I've ever done!!
i was about to mention just that. I was up to knee caps in it. Corner flagposts were even made with 4 by 4 timber lol
Get on yer google Kev for who scored, or can you remember?. I'm thinking Bell scored at least one but not sure
I got a 'domino card' on the bus on the way to the match. it was 0-3 and I thought well that's not going to happen !
We used to be able to move around grounds a bit in those days. Remember the likes of Darlington, Scunny(old show ground) Wigan(springfield) and Halifax. We often swelled the attendances at these grounds.
That's very true, mate. I think we were just bone idle that day at Rochdale and took the short cut!!Lol
Alistair Millar scored one of them, can't remember the others Another question. In a different game at Rochdale, a bizarre incident took place involving Peter Springett. Anyone know what it was?
I was knackered by the time we'd got to the half way line and just made it to the opposite end. A few months later, a friend suggested we do the same again away at Halifax. I gave him some advice on sex and travel.
Re: Alistair Millar scored one of them, can't remember the others I think you're right about Millar, come to think of it. I can't think of any incident involving Peter Springett.
Re: Alistair Millar scored one of them, can't remember the others Anything to do with his finger?. Seem to remember him playing with a bandage on it
Re: Alistair Millar scored one of them, can't remember the others NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please tell me now (said in a really pathetic, pitiful voice).
Re: Alistair Millar scored one of them, can't remember the others Got to give the others a chance first!
Re: Alistair Millar scored one of them, can't remember the others It was a left foot volley from a narrow angle, as I remember. Can't remember the bandage!
