Re: Alistair Millar scored one of them, can't remember the others Did the ball go into the net and Springett conned the referee by taking a quick goal kick? The referee assumed, because Springett had taken the kick, it probably wasn't a goal and played on. Or am I simply posting absolute gibberish yet again?
I was there with the stocksbridge works clerical trainees supporters club Two of us. Soccer special, them were days
Re: I was there with the stocksbridge works clerical trainees supporters club I went to the away games in those days with the Gilroyd Supporters Club. As you rightly say, mate. them were the days!
Re: I was there with the stocksbridge works clerical trainees supporters club six of us crammed into a mini in those days and not much leg room!

Spot On! The ball went in, hit the stanchion in the back of the net and rebounded into Springett's arms. Thinking quickly, he rushed to the corner of the 6 yard box, placed the ball and took a short goal kick. As you say, the ref was conned and played on.
I went with the Humberside and district catholic river wideners club Which of course was something completely different
Went with big brother and his mate in his mates car, we got lost somewhere on the pennines. He hadn't passed his test but that didn't seem to matter much then!
Re: I went with the Humberside and district catholic river wideners club Didn't realise there were any catholic rivers.
