My own equine fancy is Deacon Blues in Newbury 1540.

    Now then, Thereev!

I had resolved not to post until October when I'd seen how Mr Hill progressed. But there were so many requests for my views................!

Haven't posted my tips because they've been doing so poorly it was getting embarrassing!

However, unfortunately for you, I agree 100% with you on Deacon Blues [3.40 Newbury]. 7/4 looks major value for this one, who is surely the best by some margin this race, and will not mind any softening of the ground.

Elsewhere, two fiendishly difficult races for the Ayr Silver and Gold Cups. For what its worth, my pathetic guesses are:

2.15 Ayr: Fathsta [10/1] and Mirza [14/1]. Both may be coming into form and will love soft ground.

3.20 Ayr: Croisultan [16/1] Mayson [16/1] and Majestic Myles [33/1]. The first is a raider from Ireland who looks to have been laid out for this; the second looks the best of Richard Fahey's quintet with Paul Hanagan aboard; and the third, although top weight has the assistance of the excellent Joseph O'Brien, son of Trainer Aidan, who is having a little trouble with his tax returns!

Good luck to all on a fiendishly difficult day! I'm off to Oakwell to spend my last £16 - all I've got left this week after getting my 3-series serviced!
