I tried that Sheep Dung in The Maltings at York. It tasted like an old baking tray that had been simmered in Tinatyke's urine for four and a half hours. And I'm afraid your Carling, Fosters, Heinekin, and John Smith's generic watter will cut no ice with me either. With all of these I find there is absolutely no effect, other than you get fed up ****ing!

I've had to tone down my liking for Special Brew following numerous unwarranted remarks from my doctor, but more especially, seeing at first hand the effects it has on the natives on a trip to Edinburgh!

I find Leffe (blonde, but better still, brun) an acceptable compromise.

Tell you what though, I do like to finish off with a nip of Laphroaig!

ooooh...... no Mr Kaht, none of that real ale muck for me..... gi me alcho pops and and the mass produced JSS, Heineken etc....... plus there is a fit bird singing on the Heineken adverts at half time when Champions League is on itv.....what more can a man want.

As for finishing off with whiskey or whatever Laphroaig is..... no thanks...Baileys with ice for me!

Black Sheep is going the way of many beers once they are commonly available. i.e. any pub that just has 1 real ale on invariably has Black Sheep, so you get a lot of places with it that just don't know how to keep it. I'm almost at the point of not going to pubs that only have 1 ale on as I am about pubs that have none.
Black Sheep has been ruined, as as Old Speckled Hen, Abbott and Greene King IPA ( though all those 3 are owned by same brewery).
Always prefer now to find local ales whereever I am.

    Thomas Sykes 10%

I was serving at a Beer Festival at the weekend and there was loads of beer left at the end and we were allowed to take as much as we could using empty pop bottles. I got 1.5L of "Thomas Sykes" and 1.5L of "Black Mass". Shame I was cycling really else I could have got more.
