Anyone fancy chucking in a tenner wi' me to try and sign him permanently?

Absolutely no coincidence that our run has been with him in the team. Awesome, awesome player.

We were talking about him after the game -best box to box midfielder for a long time and has made a truly massive difference.

    We NEED to keep him.

Looks a class above at times, he's been a great signing for us. I echo those thoughts, signing him on a permanent deal would be great for the club.

Had a right battle with their captain Clingan today, and came out on top. Quality player

That free kick in the second half. What a beauty that would have been on the TV tonight.

Excellent player straight out of the MUFC mould. Integral part of how KH sets up his team at the moment.

Agree about the free kick and he deserved MOM for me

Been very impressed with him, Very busy player who seems to be everywhere and must win the ball 80% of the time he challenges for it. Good on the ball, can take a free kick, what's not to like. If he adds goals, dare I say it, Redfearnesque. Got to get him for the season, hopefully permanently, but if we do want him permanent then we should go all out in January. If he carries on as he has then he will have loads of offers in the summer, given his pedigree like.

Too many midfield players these days seem to be specialist midfield players

Either attacking or defensive. Drinkwater isn't. He's just a midfield player, like we always used to have. He closes down the opposition, makes tackles, gets stuck, but also passes the ball beautifully, makes forward runs, takes players on and gets in shots on goal. It seems that sort of player is a dying breed, so it's great to have one in our side. And yes, he does remind me of Neil Redfearn.

He's good enough to be at a club who pays between 15 and 20 grand a week and thats not us

Re: Too many midfield players these days seem to be specialist midfield players

To add a bit of realism to this - he's been on loan at 2 championship clubs these past couple of seasons and done nothing. They didn't rate him and he didn't play well (or vice versa).

So to say after a month of good performances he should be on 20k a week is a bit daft.

Smashing player and terrific attitude on the pitch. The team and player seem well suited to one another.

Re: Too many midfield players these days seem to be specialist midfield players

Chortle. There isn't many clubs in this league going to be paying anyone that in the next season or so.

The average wage bill at derby is four grand. Forest are trying to slash theirs to avoid over reliance on the chairman. West ham have gone for broke in order to get promoted as failure to do so will ruining them. Millwalls highest paid player is Henderson on six grand a week.
Coventry and Watford are both skint and from the musings from the reading chairman they are not exactly flush with money even after raking in twenty million in transfer fees over the last two seasons.
Birmingham as a club are on death row awaiting the outcome of the owners court case hence the firesale in the summer.
Leicester could give him a contract of that value. When they fail to go up its going to be interesting.

best we can hope for is extending his loan for the season...

Has it all passing shooting tackling, if he adds goals he will be a fantastic player in this league. as said before, midfielders seem to either be one or the other, specialise in something, where as danny does it all. This boy is the real deal...SIGN HIM UP.
