interesting article .... it'll all end in tears http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/early-doors/article/351823/
****ers, they can **** the **** off and then look back as we all tell them to ****ing stay there. Nobcheese ****er ********** **** filter Yay, nobcheese isn't in the ****tish sweary blocker.
Because I swear? Or because I hold my views about Liverpool being greedy ****s? Swearing is not only cathartic, but essential and healthy in society. Granted, I wouldn't do it in front of my mother, a bunch of nuns or a gaggle of schoolkids, but on a forum full of similarly minded folk... Yes, I am a pleasant individual, just one that, from time to time enjoys a good '****'.
Article in the times today as well - they aren't the first to suggest in Peter Kenyon tried to change it when he was at united - it would kill a lot of clubs who are riding high because of that money - it does need a big majority of clubs to agree it though. Can you imagine this being the case in the championship - Leeds would ended up swamping us all
If Barnsley found a way of maximising income via some obscure TV deal that swells the coffers, we'd all be happy. Liverpool are no more or no less greedy than any other Prem club, just trying to maximise their own income stream.
Why don't the PL just tell them to go do their own deal, but you won't be playing in the PL. They can arrange games against Kuala Lumpur FC et al. Greed is killing the game.
The best thing that could happen to football in this country would be for the 'big 4' to pack their bags and f*** off and play in a European super league or world league. Then the rest of football might be able to start and rebuild a game that has been lost to money and greed. Once they go they stay gone - there is no way back for them once they jump ship and realise that there is more to the game than money. This should make their legions of plastic glory hunting and armchair fans very happy.
Liverpool are easily one of the top four...if not the top itself....lets hope they beat man ure on satdi...horrible lot them at man ure
Spot on Mario, the sooner the so-called 'big clubs' **** off to their imagined promised land of a European/World super league the better. This would have to come with caveats for the players rather than clubs to consider, such as joining a club in that standalone league will mean never being able to play in a World Cup/European Championships etc, which would hopefully sort out the mercenaries from those who understand the game is bigger than they are. If the FA, or indeed the Government, ever grow a pair, they might hasten this parting of the ways by deciding to properly regulate (thereby reclaiming) a game that as you say has been utterly lost to money, greed, and the self-interest of the Premier League and European Club Association (or whatever the shameful and wholly unnecessary closed shop of Europe's richest clubs is now called).
Amen. Said the same to a Liverpool fan today. Apparantly I'm "jealous." It's not just the clubs who have destroyed the game with their greed, but they've taken a whole generation of supporters with them. Even if the best did happen (top 8 of Prem leaving for a Euro League) it'd take at least another generation to reclaim the game, assuming the will is there.
Well yes it possibly would because if they broke away they wouldn't have to be part of the collective agreement negotiated by the premier league. Oh and it would go some way to ridding our game of a massive problem. Two birds, one stone.
