Very good for first half, quieter in second half.
Far better player this season than last. He is more committed, but I wish he would get rid of the bloody beard, lol!!

The Burnley commentary team strongly disagreed with his m-o-m award claiming Butterfield was a class above anyone else on the field tonight. All about opinions i suppose.

Butterfield had a fairly quiet game

Thought Drinkwater and Doyle were outstanding today. One thing that really puzzled me - O'Brien ran the left-back ragged and had him beaten every time. The first goal was created through one such foray. He was giving him the run around so much that I thought the Burnley manager might switch Trippier over to take care of him. Hence I was amazed that Hill did the job for him and switched O'Brien and Davies to opposite wings. Killed our main attacking threat and outlet ball in one stroke. Baffled as to why Hill did that.

Personally i think Drinkwater didn't have one of his better games today, lost the ball quite alot. But he disguises it by running his blood to water and never giving up, so fair play.

Handed them the initiative I thought. O'Brien shouldn't be used as defensive cover for McNulty - Davies was doing a good enough job anyway. JOB never looked as threatening going forward after that and he can't cross off his left foot. Still what do I know. Won 2-0 and could have had 4 or 5

    Butterfield's touch was sublime

He looked class. But he wasn't nearly as involved as O'Brien.

Doesn't seem to be doing too much different from last season

It's just his end product is much better. He's having a belting season as a result, good on the lad, unleashing the potential he always had.

    Nor me

That's exactly the time you should applaud a player. Everyone can make a mistake but if they battle to win the ball back then they deserve the applause.

I thought it was a shrewd tactical move

Trips was getting forward and getting some dangerous crosses in on their right (like he used to do for us). After JOB swapped wings, that didn't happen. I agree it did stifle our attacking but all in all it stopped them attacking more than it stopped us. Difficult call but I thought it was the right decision.

Superb performance by JOB. Was sat next to a Burnley fan who was well impressed with him, and Butterfield too.

No he didnt, sorry mate, this season he is not the same as last , no way at all. Far far better this term. Last season he could not get a cross within 5 yrds of his team mates, this season he is doing great, hope he keeps it up.

    Re: Nor me

He did not play like that last season though and that was why he was dropped and got criticised. He seems to have worked hard and come back a better player, just what was required of him. Great things ahead if he keeps it up.
