Was the referee correct to send Dembele off? And should Nunez be punished?

    To answer your first question, no he wasn't. To answer your second question, yes he should. But I doubt very much he will be.

    I agree by the way, I don't think he will receive any punishment at all but if I was in charge of disciplinary he'd be banned for 6 months as would any player who dives.

    Also agree that he should have been punished but i'm not sure if Dembele should have been sent off or not. Part of me says that he raised his hands towards an opponent while another part of me says it was only a little push. I wonder if any player has ever been booked for 'simulation' and the referee has sent the other player off for the incident as well.

    Dembele booked for raising his hands and Nunez booked for simulation at the same time would have been a reasonable decision in my opinion but has anything like that ever happened before?

    I don't think Demebele's 'effort' would've pushed Laura over, never mind a professional athlete. However, this type of acting seems to be acceptable by a lot of people within the game these days.
