    A sad loss

I only met him the once but like others have said, he was one of the stronger characters on here. I particularly recall his ideas on foreign food!

    RIP Dave

Very sad to hear of Dave's passing. A really lovely man who helped me out once when I needed it. RIP

Bloody hell... only just read of his passing, that's really sad news :(

I often logged in here late at night too when Mort was posting all those youtube music links... my own musical taste was a bit different to his, and he didn't seem to care about my favourites, but he always came across as a nice bloke. Rest in peace Mort, you'll be missed!

Aye. We shared a pint or two over the years.
Didn't always see eye to eye but our differences were neither important nor problematic.
He was a true gentleman and one of Wombwell's characters.

    He will be missed.
    RIP Dave

So sory to hear that. Ws only thinking about him earlier in the week, wondering what he was up to. A few years ago I was looking for a venue to watch a Barnsley match on sky. He didnt know me, but invited me and my son to join him at the Anglers. He sat and chatted to me during the match and was very friendly to both me and my 9 year old son. Met him a few more times after that and found him a really friendly guy. Was concerned when he got a bit down and stopped posting, but hoped he still read the board and was keeping well. Such a shame I always seemed to be too busy to pop down to the Anglers to see how he was doing.

    RIP Dave
