He says it as it is like Brian Clough. Too many Barnsley fans are too precious, and have forgotten the grim interviews with Hart, Davey, Parkin etc. In the 4th Division when we were in the bottom eight, losing to the likes of Newport County, we didn't have the boo-ing, the lack of support as we do today in the second tier of English football. I firmly believe in Hillcroft, and I certainly believe that in three years time, your views will have changed.
you are wrong imo...if anyone is precious it is Benny (hill). ffs ...comparing him to Cloughie now........ who are you....Keith Hill!!!!?
I think he is. And with the way we've been playing. Bad day at home. First one in two months. Get ovver it.
Well said Xerxes, a wish there was more of you than the doom and gloom merchants on here, 'thereev and Supertyke' spring to mind
Didn't have booing when we were in the 4th Division ??!!! you are joking aren't you,Spud Murphy used to flick the V's at the fans in the West Terrace regularly ......
Wake up. The guys a quality manager, and up until last nite I found him quality to listen to. But that interview was never 'telling it like it is'
Fortunately, in three years time Benny will have been gone for two years+. Hopefully we'll have got a replacement who values bums on seats.
I like him too, I like him a lot but he didn't do himself any favours yesterday. I just wish he would extend his refreshing honesty to players performances. Not always, just when the sh.it performance would have been obvious to Stevie Wonder.
When I first started watching Barnsley we had a manager called IleyOut No booing in the fourth division my arse.
Re: When I first started watching Barnsley we had a manager called IleyOut I remember hearing booing in the fourth division. I attended, with my brother, every week in those days, first team one week, reserves the following week and believe me there was plenty of booing as I remember. What planet is Hill living on if he thinks that booing is not part and parcel of today's game?
Re: When I first started watching Barnsley we had a manager called IleyOut But Tina , we did not have the messiah that is Keith Hill back then, he is untouchable, he can do no wrong. He is a delude little gas bag that actually believe he is too good for the uneducated heathens of Barnsley. I mean he was the manager of the sleeping giants that are Rochdale, got them promoted you know.
Re: When I first started watching Barnsley we had a manager called IleyOut Lol. "A deluded, little gas bag" Thanks Mark, you have made my night with that. Very, very funny. In addition to that, there is nothing I can disagree with in your post.
Re: When I first started watching Barnsley we had a manager called IleyOut Thankyou it was meant to be funny, but humour is something that is missing from here lately, you seem to have to love Hill or hate him, no-one seems to be allowed to say that they agree with somethings and disagree with others, because then both sides want to pick a fight with you, although I must say it seems to be the pro Hill fans that are the worst. Craziness and short sightedness in my opinion. I have not posted much on here for a few weeks, been reading everyday and it seems that unless you are a nutter or wind up then it just is not worth it.
Re: When I first started watching Barnsley we had a manager called IleyOut I think this Board would be a sadder place if you stopped posting and stopped telling it like it is.
Re: When I first started watching Barnsley we had a manager called IleyOut It is not how it is, it is how I see it, that is how I post. I have upset a few on here and although I am sorry that they are upset, I am not sorry for having my say, it may not be liked by many, it may not be like by any, it may make people smile or it may make people cry, but it is MY feelings and thoughts. Not something I heard on the radio or sky sports etc.
Re: When I first started watching Barnsley we had a manager called IleyOut Quality post Mark and despite our many disagreements, I see you as part of the furniture and I missed you. How gay am I tonight? ;D I think you make a great point also. It seems some on ere are either this, or that. And even I, an admitted fan of the management, dont see everything one way. The world is a colourful place.. welcome back Mark
I like him too and I agree you shouldn't boo even if they were crap 1st half, don,t help anybody makes me cringe when I hear it!
Spot on Mark - as you say, if we all agreed it would be boring and unless you're a wind up merchant you don't get time of day around here. To be honest, I find both you and Tina hard to handle at times because you seem to take defeat hard and often seem impossible to please, BUT your above posts totally back up what I think - it's your opinion and you obviously care what happens at this football club. I find a lot of your posts (usually post match) quite overtly aggressive, but that's the problem with message boards - you lose the context of a posters point and it can lead to misunderstandings. You end up judging someone based on their style of writing. I would much rather have opinionated people who will articulate their point on here (even if it doesn't agree with mine) than a bunch of stubborn wind up merchants who do nothing but degenerate the board into petty arguments.
