Someone at the club shut the silly chuff up, apparently the fans are responsible for the last 9 managers getting the sack at Oakwell
Not seen it, but if he has said that, then all I can say he's just looking for confrontation not just with fans, but with the die-hard fans. There can only be 1 outcome there. Also what had the fans got to do with the last managers' departure?
Any links to this?? That would be up there with the stupidest things he's said, along with 'it was the fans fault Bristol scored the winner, the cheering distracted the players!' or words to that effect
His words were . . . . Something about looking over our shouler, then, we are dealing with a shift in change in terms of finances. Then, "The fans are the fans, come what may and they've got their own opinion and they will stick to their own resolute opinion" Interviewer says "The fans can get quite critical quite quickly here" (Wasn't really a question) Hill says " I think thats why they've had 9 managers in the last 11 seasons, you know, and I'm the tenth in the last 12 so there it is in a nutshell" (Just like to point out that I'm just relaying what he said . . . no more!)
Actually he does have a point though - we have had far too many managers since 97 and our impatience has been one of the causes.....
It looks like someone's had a word with him. http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~2500924,00.html
Last 9 Managers, who were they? Robins. Fans choice to go? no Davey. Fans in end probably, but after three years Ritchie. No chance fans choice. Look at PC or the Shepman Hart. Yes probably Gudjon. Gone sour but not a universally approved of. Hodges. Come on Keith, a joker Parkin. Club problems bigger than he could handle. Drew too many and we went down Spackman. Clown Bassett. Lost the plot and weren't bothered after the brass had gone. Slagged the fans and got the chop. 3 from 9 down to the fans
I think he is way off the mark with that one, most of the managers that have gone have had the support of the majority of fans. you will always find someone on a forum wanting a particular manager out, there are some Man U fans who think Fergie should have gone a few years ago but Davey apart I can't remember the fans chanting for the managers head ,they were still singing for Andy Ritchie 3 weeks after he'd gone
Re: Basset Gally could you mention Keith Hills attitude problem at the next supporters trust meeting (or even earlier)? Only you lot are supposed to look out for the interests of the supporters and Keith Hill is being very derogatory about those same supporters.
A bit more of that Keith And a lot less of that ****e you spurted out on Setdi and we might all be mates. You and the team will be forgiven a multitude of sins if you make some effort to keep us on side. Managing a football club is about managing the fans as well as the players.
