but why are we playing at Brighton on SUNDAY??? I'm sure there's an obvious reason but I don't know what it is.
I dont know for sure but heard one story Apparantly there is a big fireworks display on Saturday night and the Police didnt want Football fans and fireworks fans getting all mixed up or summat Not sure if thats the real reason but its the only one I've heard real pain - it would have been much better for me had it stayed on Saturday
Brighton have the biggest firework show in Britain or sumat on bonfire night, 100k turn up for it aparently, and the police can't be in two places at once so they've moved the game to sunday.
Re: Brighton have the biggest firework show in Britain or sumat Seems strange given that the London-Brighton vintage car rally is on Sunday....so god help anyone heading to the game getting stuck behind that!
Biggest Bonfire festival in the country at Lewes which isn't that far away from the ground , they start closing the roads in and to Lewes in the afternoon .
Re: Brighton have the biggest firework show in Britain or sumat Knowing this is the case every year (this bonfire isn't a brand new thing) you'd think back when the fixtures come out the FA would make sure Brighton are always away that weekend. Surely we could have switched the Brighton fixtures around so this weekend we would have been home to them on saturday.
Re: Brighton have the biggest firework show in Britain or sumat Yeah but that would mean they need to have common sense
Re: Brighton have the biggest firework show in Britain or sumat Might have needed a little bit more planning than just swapping our fixtures around....unless you'd be happy with us finishing the season with 3 successive away games!
Re: Brighton have the biggest firework show in Britain or sumat Had to drop on us playing them didnt it!!! Ah well. Suppose for those fortunate enough to make a weekend of it, the sunday game is a novelty. But yeah I hear the fireworks display is massive in Lewes, bit strange too by all accounts.
A nice bit of council supported bigotry Like to see what would happen if a group tried to parade through the streets burning effigies of Osama Bin Laden under banners which said "No Muslims".
