Mark Robins had also inherited Simon Davey's team - without a pre-season to work with them (on the other hand)
Like you say Robins inherited a team - Hill inherited, not bloody much. All the loan signings that had propped us up the previous season were no more. Hill's had to assemble a team from the few remaining bods and fill the holes on a shoestring budget (lower league players). What were you expecting this season? We will do well to survive.
Robins inherited a team that was deemed to be failing lets not forget. Robins went because he didn't want to work with a reduced budget. Depends what i bought into - Hill raised expectations before the season, so i should/could have expected more from us, he quickly readjusted this to we should be happy if we aren't relegated once the season started. Hill said he could work with this budget and would surprise us with players we might not have heard of before, I'm not really shocked or surprised with how we are doing tbh - this league is like groundhog day each season.
Not to mention the 15 players out. 10/13 players out at once. Only Luke potters/ kern miller haven't been on bench.
there were thousands of out of work footballers, he signed vaz te, davies, perkins, addison, wiseman, mcnulty, done. only perkins has done anything of note, keep buying in rochdale, that's where we'll be playing
But, but, but. The players are coming back now and we are still performing fairly average. Our away forms returned to its same old, same old.
what a load of rubbish, Mcnultys played well and so as done. Wisemans played well and so as davies. Addison played very well at forest but hes not played much since.
mcnulty's been ok, done has hardly played, 1 half decent game. wiseman is a liability going forward or defending, addison is too slow and cumbersome. davies has been injured but missed oddjob esque chances v burnley and hull NEXT
