Sorry folks..........this offer (although quite enterprising) won't have much effect unless we start WINNING games consistently......thats all that matters really.

for example: if we were getting beaten every game who the hell would buy three tickets to see us get beaten 3 more times........... whereas if we were winning, this offer would be somewhat of a christmas cracker!!

    hope this helps....

    Haven't we been here before?

Sure we agreed on this last time!

Club announce an offer, but the fans have to give up their own time to market the offer?

How can you not have the resources to walk around all the bars/pubs in the town centre with a poster?

Cracking idea by the way. A match ticket costs nothing if that seat isn't going to be used, so give them away left, righ and centre in return for helping drive awareness.

Never understand why we dont have any advertising boards up around where the Oakwell sandwich shop is at the bottom of Grove Street or at the other side of the terraced houses where the burger van parks, Ponty Rd is a fairly busy road. And as someone stated above we need to start getting involved in Wakey, Ponte, Cass area's people just assume "arr, they're Leeds that lot" they may have been when Leeds were in Europe but they haven't been pulling any trees up lately and Europe and the Premiership were many moons ago for them.

Exactly. Same problem - good idea, great price, no marketing. But Jimmy G will argue every man/woman/dog that's ever been to Oakwell will be glued to the official site waiting for such an offer to come by.

I might be absolutely millions of miles away on this

But surely the club could work something out with the Chronicle as a one off, just to see how much value we get out of it, around advertising.

It's fairly common in London to have The Metro inside a separate advertising cover, so imagine having the Chronicle within a front and back advertising feature for the 1, 2, free campaign and half season tickets?

This doesn't take away any advertising space as it's additional, and would only incur additional print costs.

Would be interesting to see a quote for something like this.

Do that on the (Barnsley) Independent. There's often ones for supermarkets etc on it, and unlike the Chronicle it goes to almost every home in Barnsley

Haha sadly Huddersfield Town don't need to market going to the Funny Pharm due to equalling the all time record of 42 league games undefeated. The traffic lights idea is a good one. FC Halifax play Charlton on sunday dinner, but the town despite being of good size don't have a local team. How about we do a deal with the locals that they can get into Oakwell for a tenner on handing over a ticket stub from one of their home games (or the Charlton game). There will be thousands of part timers at the Charlton match in the home ends who aren't used to watching a professional football team. Give them the chance to watch one of our games on the cheap.

Could do the same for Wakefield WIldcats season ticket holders? Are there any other local sports teams that might take up this offer? Could be a reciprocal arrangement?

We have gone on before about teaming up with the Wildcats we have done other things with them in the past, cheerleaders, let them use our ground etc. What about Cas Tigers as well?

Plenty of Rugby teams in the Halifax, Pontefract, Dewsbury, Wakefield area. We need to be more ruthless in other business teritories like Vince Mcmahon was for wrestling.......

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980s_professional_wrestling_boom#First_steps_at_going_national

There was an unwritten rule you would stick to your local area and do nothing to upset other territories. If his father had known at the time that his son on being sold the business would be so ruthless as to go into other areas to try and make extra money to monopolise the area better he wouldn't have sold WWE (WWF as it was) to him and it wouldn't have become what it is today. We shouldn't be worried about taking away from other areas/teams. Hunslet rugby team is another good one to go after as Leeds is a vast place of opportunity and it would be much cheaper for them to go watch us.

    Let me get this straight.............

If I can find £60 for the Ipswich game I can watch Leeds and Blackpool for free.

Why doesn't the Club just get rid of the catigory system, having to pay £60 up front isn't going to get me to all three Games.

Charging me between £20-£23 for each individual game would.

The whole issue of fans staying away is because they can't find or won't pay £30.

Asking us to find £60 up front a bit of a **** take and just shows how out of touch the Club is with it's fan base.

It's an offer I won't be taking up.

Re: Let me get this straight.............

Surley Manlito your can afford £60 a few days before the ITFC game, this is a really good offer for 3 really good games, the Leeds game will be a belting atmosphere and boxing day is always a great game to get out for.

Why not buy the 1912 card - you get your money back straight away on this offer and then have lots of other games you can watch for just £25.

You honestly think a deal giving people five weeks to save 50-60 quid is a bad offer? The point of the deal is much like when you go to the supermaket in that when you buy in bulk you get something for cheaper. Also if they did your bad business idea folks would hardly pay 20 quid for the Sky match when they can spend it at the pub. The problem with cat C games is it's a one off match between higher priced ones and against bad opposition. This is a chance to watch three decent teams on the cheap.

You have four weeks to save up £60, put £15 quid a week away, it's a brilliant offer.

It is a fantastic offer, the Leeds game alone should be a cracking game/atmosphere. Blackpool on boxing day is a real good one to look forward to over xmas as well.

You really can't deny for £50 current members/£60 new members that this is fantastic value. Palace game now coming up early Dec also a CAT C so some very cheap football coming up.
