One poster mentions about it being from pressutre from our fans. http://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=999999&id=197681&Itemid=108
read most of it, 1 moan was of us still been more expensive than the other, ""Still would have hoped both prices would have been matched!"" but wasn't that the case reversed last season where after discounts they were a few ££ over ours? perhaps the caravan rental has gone up too '-)
this is quite simple folks....so read carefully. if ticket sales were good up to the point of the reduction...there would have been NO reduction. FACT They were reduced because only the people with more money than sense had bought tickets.
I wasn't offering an opinion.. I was simply pointing out that a poster on this Donny board seems to think it was down to Ryan rather than any group or body of people. Its so obvious if large numbers of people didn't but tickets for games then something would be done. Incidentally I'm not going to Leeds simply because of the ticket price for a league game. Hope this helps
Re: I wasn't offering an opinion.. I can confirm that it was down to a bit of everything, John Ryan was involved as well. I suggested idea's at my meeting and told him about the Donny boycott, and pushed him on the fact that 100s of Reds fans are really unhappy with the cost and the gates show this!!
Re: I wasn't offering an opinion.. If there had been large ticket sales do you honestly think they would have reduced prices?...NO...... so please don't suggest it had to do with ANYTHING else.
Re: I wasn't offering an opinion.. I'm telling you, without intervention the prices would have stood, like all other games have until now!! I was with Don when a conversation with John Ryan took place on Monday!! I also told him about boycotts from Donny and our own fans - then a decision was made quickly!
Re: I wasn't offering an opinion.. and the decision was made because?......... they aint sold many tickets!!
Re: I wasn't offering an opinion.. They brought 1,800 at £23 last season so their support has hardly made a difference to this and they believe anything Ryan tells them, its comical. Let them ignore the point that this has been the main topic of conversation on our forums, emails to the club, letters to Don Rowing and the constant feedback from the Supporters Trust regarding the prices, did Ryan get us the discounts for the three games over xmas? Oh aye its all down to Pikey Ryan.........lets hope he tells them all to jump off a bridge..... More down to our "missing" 1500 supporters than the poor following from Donny not turning up again
Re: I wasn't offering an opinion.. Last season both clubs got together and reduced price by £5 for both games, this season they have agreed on a £7 reduction. Both clubs not one.
Re: I wasn't offering an opinion.. That'll do me the less that go to Leeds the better, because i hear the club are selling Blackpool away tickets the Easter back holiday Monday to season ticket holders with the Leeds Utd away stub first, so the less we take to Leeds the better chance i have of getting a ticket for the bandwagon game
Re: I wasn't offering an opinion.. i've the great mis-fortune to both live & work in Pikeysville and to hear them rave on about the messiah, sorry John Ryan is pathetic, these jokers believe any thing that come's out of his mouth, poor sad dilluded cretines.
Glad to be of service I hope its well worth £36, if it isn't I'm sure Ken bates will still be most Grateful. BTW as long as the Blackpool game isn't also a ludicrous price, I will be there guaranteed.
Re: Glad to be of service I'll get a ticket if I want one. Also unlike you, I hope everyone thats wants a ticket gets one irrespective of which game they've been to, or not as the case may be. I have to say your first reply smacks of selfish smugness. Does it irk you that I won't be fleeced by Ken Bates? BTW why don't post your source if you've heard anything about Blackpool tickets.
