What are we going to do to keep blaming the club and not the fans when there's less than ten thou there on Satdi?? Jay: £23 is far too expensive for football unless you're living in la la land. You could get a weekly shop for that. SuperTyke: The club have done nothing to promote this offer. Dyson: Whatever Jay says/si thi/**** on etc etc Johnny Coachman: I watched Barnsley play Workington in 1968 and it cost me half a sixpence. I'm going to watch a random even that costs about £2 to put and it will only cost me £10. Including ale. Anymore for anymore??
So basically what you're saying is that people keep giving the same two reasons for the falling attendances. I wonder if that is maybe because they are the two reasons for falling attendances? Just a thought
Just shows your ignorance. We paid more than half a sixpence in 1968 and we beat Workington 2-1 and the attendance for that Division 4 game was 11427.
But the club have done pretty much nothing to promote the offer haven't they? Surely that's a fact, and not an excuse?
Re: But the club have done pretty much nothing to promote the offer Apart from: Twitter Advertising Facebook Advertising (Club and We are Barnsley 10K and 16K fans respectively) Radio Chronicle Advert Mentioned in several places in last weeks Chronicle including Lodgies Column Email Newsletters Posters are available And other things in the pipeline perhaps. No they've done **** all. Don't forget the change in price was agreed last week.
I think you'll find I was asking a question so take a step off that high horse you seem so comfortable sitting on. More fool them if they wait until so late in the day to solve something that's been such an obvious issue since the day they announced the category system. I would hazard a guess that if people who live in Barnsley and access the BBS feel like the club haven't advertised the offer properly, then chances are they haven't. The local community should be more than aware. As for posters being available - why would anyone want a poster of a ticket offer? Hardly one for the front room wall! Twitter, Facebook, and e-shot letter - all of five minutes work then? Wonder what they did with the other 8 hours and 55 minutes of the shift that day.
Asda Folks get more kicks out of a trip to the supermarket..... Gazing at a cucumber is a lot more entertaining, or so it seems, (not that I would know anything about that, like).
Re: I think you'll find I was asking a question So they can put the posters up in their locals or tweet them on their own accounts possibly?
Re: I think you'll find I was asking a question Well I'm still on this high horse are you going to buy a ticket this season I'm mean pay for one and not borrow someone's season ticket (when you occasionally come to a game I mean!)
Re: I think you'll find I was asking a question Aware of that, but I'd be more concerned at what efforts the club have put in to putting those posters up - we shouldn't be relying on the support of the fans.
Re: I think you'll find I was asking a question Why? It seems were are only a community club when it suits?
Re: But the club have done pretty much nothing to promote the offer Like I keep saying I think the club face an almost impossible job generating enough interest to make a real difference to the attendance. Aside from getting back into the premier league I can't think of a way to turn this tide.
