We got a bit rattled for 10 minutes after they got the equaliser, but apart from that I thought we controlled the match. Only Foster's poor back header put a blot on the copy book. Wilson and Bassett's teams may well have been quicker on the attack, but I've never seen a Barnsley side retain possession as well as this one does.

Fantastic opening strike by Vaz Te and he did really well to follow up for the second. Butterfield can have a shot whenever he wants for me, if they don't fly in they cause the keeper all sorts of problems and we're scoring a few goals from the rebounds. Ranger really should have scored in the first half and I've no idea why Drinkwater didn't shoot.

Excellent half time substitution. Their right winger was starting to get the better of Perkins, while there was a possibility we could get overrun in midfield. 1 substitution sorted out two problems. Wiseman had their winger in his pocket and Perkins shored up the midfield.

I'm more impressed by Davies each week, even if he didn't score today. He looks like a proper striker.

Selection headache for Keith Hill at the weekend. Perkins, Butterfield and Drinkwater all vying for 2 midfield spots, while up front Haynes looked sharp when he came on to put pressure on Ranger.

Can we really think about the play-offs? Dunno, but it's exciting times.

    Well played you reds.

No selection headache in midfield based on tonight - Drinkwater was poor.

Got to be Perks and Butts in midfield for me... Let Drinks have a couple of games on the bench. And if McEveley isn't fit, Wiseman at left back

I agree Jay - he isn't - but there is enough competition for places now to ensure that a bad game means a danger of a short spell on the bench. It would be a travesty if Perkins didn't keep his place in the middle after shoring up the middle in the second half tonight, and of the other 2, I think Butts is the more consistent performer at the moment.

i think we're a bit weak defensively in midfield when jacob and danny both play.good going forward though when they're both on

for me, Perkins would be one of the first names on the teamsheet every week. He has such an engine that I feel confident every time he starts that midfield won't be overrun. He's the find of the season in my book.

Perks and Butts for me too. Can play all 3 in some games. Wiseman played well when he came on, if anything he looked better than he does at RB.

Re: Drinks, Butts and Perks. . . .

These certainly are exciting times for us Barnsley fans. I cannot remember the last time I was looking at the top 6 and thinking it's do-able. Actually, I had to look twice at the table when I woke up today. Are we really in 8th place after 20 games? After being written off by everybody before the season, and after all the negativity after a few games, the turnaround has been really impressive. Have we finally got a team to fall in love with and to be proud of? Looks that way.
I for one haven't been this optimistic for ages.
