You're suppose to be the captain and leader of this team, where was your 2nd half performance because you were non-existent. You're not as good as you like to think young lad, all the fancy step overs mean **** all when there is no end product. Think your name was mentioned twice in the 2nd half, to me that says it all.
Keith Hill said he'd change the captain if he thought they weren't doing a good job Personally I think Butterfield just isn't a good captain at all. time for a change imo.
OK, iv singled Jacob out, but he’s the captain, he’s suppose to rally the troops and keep them going, I just didn’t see anything from him tonight. As you say though most of the others had shocking 2nd half performances too.
Maybe it was because he is the CAPTAIN of the team, therefore he should have shown some ballox and motivated the others ? Just a thought like.
Exactly madmark, I mentioned above because he's the captain, I also mentioned that the other players had ****e 2nd half too.
As I said after Tuesday, Butterfield is only half a player. The defensive side is missing from his game. Whilst we were playing 4-4-1-1 this did not matter. However, when Drinkwater went off, we dropped Butterfield back and although Done initially took Butterfields place in the 4-4-1-1, before the end of the first half we went 4-4-2. Admittedly, we scored the second goal whilst in that formation and also reached half time without conceeding, but there is always a danger when Butterfield is expected to close down and press the ball. At 2-1, I noticed the manager was preparing a sub, and I hoped that it would be Addison. However, Ipswich scored the second before the sub got on and in any case the sub was Haynes. Actually, there was no point bringing on Addison anyway at 2-2 because there was no lead to protect. For the rest of the game, the manager was grasping at straws because he did not have anyone on the bench who would strengthen the area that was causing us most problems - midfield. Can I also say that Ipswich deserve some credit, in particular Andrews and Bowyer who wrestled back control from us. They worked very hard to do so.
So it's the captain's fault? Is that the best you can do as far as scapegoats are concerned? Always has to be an excuse Be nice if he was a big part of the defence A defence with far more experienced players in it. Did he demand to be captain? Was it all down to him that we were 2 up at half time? Nowt to do with anyone else at all then? I despair
"Name was mentioned" does that mean you weren't there? Or does a player's apparent performance depend upon the namecheck of a random commentator?
You should post more mate. Firstly because it's not as busy as it used to be so you've done well getting over a dozen responses. Secondly you correctly said "you're" on a board of people who regularly put incorrectly "your"
Have you read my previous posts? Clearly you don't understand at all, while I had a dig at butterfield I also mentioned other players.
Does the fact he was not there mean he watched a different game? Do you in all honesty think Butterfield played well, or even OK in the second half? He was not the only one to play poorly, but this thread is about him, the CAPTAIN, if he thinks he cannot do the job he should say so, because he was not up to it in the second half. It is all well and good looking great when things are going well but you have to show some balls when things start to go wrong. He did not do that he went missing. He has had a great season so far, but the second half he was poor. That is a FACT!!!
Well if you thought he played well then say so pal. He was utter **** and went missing when he should have been taking the game by the scruff of the neck.
I would hazard a guess that you will not be able to find anyone that say he played even OK, Dave. Mind you H/T has not come on yet!!! He will read that people think Butterfield was poor and then say the total opposite, just to be controversial, that is how he works, I have finally got him figured out.
