PDC Darts World Championships

Anybody tuning in tonight? First night of this years world championships. Should be a cracking tournament if the players championship last week is anything to go by, some really good players on the tour now. Hoping for a James Wade title but it's up for grabs although Taylor still, understandably, the man to beat.

I love Darts its the highlight of the Christmas holidays for me, I love it as much as Football to be honest, ive been to most tournaments on the PDC tour, and went Friday & Sunday last weekend wish i'd gone on the Saturday too now after that at oakwell, this week my bets are as follows ............

£50 win Phil Taylor @ Evens
£20 Win James Wade without Taylor 7/2
£20 win Mark Webster Without Taylor @ 12/1
£40 win Mark Hylton to beat VVV @ 5/4

As Barnsley fans we've dropped lucky the last 3 years, having Palace Millwall , & West Ham away at the same time as the darts so we can take in a football match and a night at the darts fantastic Christmas gift to myself even though the millwall game was off i still went to london and was there when it got called off and just went to musswell hill for the afternoon

 

Nightmare, I did Thursday last week shame the dome didn't do much to push the event to get more people in.

I think its a lot like Football pal, the price as just got silly, and people are only going to the big games, on the sunday night it was packed, because it was semis and final, in 2005 when i first went to Blackpool for the world matchplay it was £105 for a season ticket now its around the £300 mark for the week to watch all the games, so people pick and choose this means the first few days are not sell outs any more, it'll kill the game before long

 

It's a shame as the first night there was some good matches just let down by poor attendance.
They was telling people to move forward to make it look busy and that didn't help.

 

They did the same on the friday but i like to be at the back near the bar & bog and not having to look up at the screen so stayed where i'd picked my seats in the first place, don't think the management was too happy with us for that, its the same at The palace this weekend i get my tickets at the back so i can see better and don't have to miss any of the games when getting refills

Lucky tonight against Heydon but his style was really off putting leaning so far forward it looked like he was going to fall over every time he threw....great match though

Working on it this weekend really looking forward to it, I did the Players championship last weekend and realised how good a night out it can be. The final was fantastic, wonder what odds Painter is?

 

Webster was worth backing at 12/1 without Taylor, Lewis at 5/2 is just not value with wade in the same side of the draw, and anyone backing against Taylor needs the head checking, its a shame Andersons in Taylors half
