I've never grown up I'm still immature and childish. However, I used to love playing Subbuteo when I was a kid.
I spent countless hours playing it Had dozens of different teams. Then I discovered girls and I've never been the same since!
Football. But for computer games I remember playing a lot of Daley Thompson's Decathlon, Bruce Lee, Match of the Day, Match Point, Manic Miner, Saboteur, Chequered Flag. All on Sinclair Spectrum, 48k then 128k later on in the 80's. Before the 80's it was just board games. I remember one I got for xmas when I was about 5 called Alley Cats that I thought was pretty good. We had Subutteo, but I think it was r kids.
Just remembered another, from school. The football game that is based on shove ha'penny. We had leagues going and cup competitions. Also had a gambling game where you all threw a coin up to a wall and the nearest to it without touching got the chance to spin them all and call heads or tails. Whatever he got right he won. Then the the 2nd nearest gets the chance with whatever is left, then the 3rd etc. You were sh!tt!ng it if you were playing with 50's. Also played a lot of brag and hearts and stuff for money in school years.
Subbuteo for me too. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the trophies were about 100 times bigger than the players. It made FA cup finals between Barnsley and Tottenham or Liverpool very interesting.
Bulldogs a classic. Was blocky 1,2,3 a hide and seek game? Where the hiders have to run back to the ''base' and shout 1,2,3 (shout name)? If so then we called that hiddy.
