Wahay!! Call me a saddo....

    ...(pause whilst you call me a saddo)........................................................... BUT my wife retires today after over35 years of teaching and for the past few years we have always woken up Chris Evans on radio 2.

    I emailed in hoping for a mention for her in his "Today's a special day because....representing (Barnsley)........' section at about 7:05 am and he read out nearly word for word what I emailed in.
    My wife would have been really chuffed .... except ..... she must have gone back to sleep after the radio alarm had gone off and half way through his announcement I heard her snore..I poked her to wake her up just in time for her to hear the last bit so all was not quite lost otherwise she would probably not have believed me!

    Anyway it may help me with some 'Brownie points' for when I might need them

    Too late! I retired before her and have never stopped... threatened to get my old job back for the rest! Househusband not what it is cracked up to be!

    I dont know how we managed it but got a SECOND mention this morning...

    ... As it is my wife's first weekday as a 'retired person'. Didn't request it but that's two consecutive days now on the Bkfst show. Just waiting for an invite from 'The ginger one' himself for Xmas dinner :)
    Actually regardless of whether or not he is wealthy he sounds a top guy and I bet people have a great time in his company. He makes a difficult job sound dead easy on radio.

    yerbut...it is a change to get Barnsley (other than BFC) mentioned in a positive way on national radio twice in succession. Anyway, nice to see the spirit of Christmas is alive and well in your house!!

    Nay..try being that cheerful when you have to get up at 3 am every morning. I can't even manage if I get up at 7am. I bet there are times when he feels like sh*t and has to be that happy lively person for his listeners Easy my ar*e!!
