The same people who said that all they wanted from Mark Robins was a comfortable season without worrying about relegation, yet then started whinging about how boring it was to watch when Robins achieved that. Can't win.

Well, you're not out of tune with this fan.

    I'm enjoying this season.

We can score goals, good goals too.

We can play a bit, sometimes really well.

But we aren't going to beat everyone, yesterday we got beat by a good side, one of the best I've seen at Oakwell in a while. I'll accept that, it's when we lose to rubbish sides that I'll complain.

I think weve come a long way this season, in fact every time i go to a match i think we will get something out off it. I think weve a long way to go to be hopeful of a play off place but hillcroft have only been here 5 minutes weve got to give em chance, and some of this crap about Butterfield, how old is he 21 some of his passing reminds me of a kid called Beckham and he wernt too bad were he.

Thanks for that. For that reason and others, I spend a lot less time on here these day.

Re: everyone is entitled to their opinion kev, but

totally agree. he is the best home grown youngster I have seen at Oakwell since I started watching Barnsley in 1987. We should be holding out for in excess of £3 million for him at the very least. I am sure people will scoff at that but if you compare it to recent deals, i.e. Jordan Slew, its about right. If he were playing for Leeds he would be valued at £5m+

    Agreed.

We play an attractive style of football these days.

A passing game emphasizes the need for individual ball control and footballing skill from the player. In accordance with human nature, some days go better than others.

And a greater degree of patience and understanding is sought from the supporter.

Sadly, as is heard at the ground and seen on here, there is a significant minority whose personality propels them towards nastiness and personal abuse.

As long as you're enjoying the football, then perhaps the help of a deaf ear and a blind eye, and the support of the silent majority will have you raise your glass to another Red New Year.

I dismiss it by reminding myself

...that even idiots with no perspective can have opinions.

Then I remember that this doesn't mean I should read it. So I look for the close account option on this site. And draw a blank. Is there a way to close an account on this chuffin' site? I can't find it anywhere.

But it's all just as well because later I find myself back on here anyway, like a junkie out for his next fix, even though he knows it will only bring him further down.

I like the cut of your jib, sir

And, if I may say so, your approach is better than mine. Therefore, in future, it is the one I'll endeavour to adopt.

I go mental when we win, when we lose I don't really mind as after all it's only a game. That way I get the best of the enjoyment on offer. Really enjoyed this season so far and I can see progress on the field and especially off the field in the finance department.

I'm looking forward to a season or two from now when clubs finally get rid of the ridsdale financial style. Once a few more clubs have gone under and realised they have to pay their own way, everything will be a bit more level. I think we're ahead on that basis, which bodes well for the future.

Still FAR too expensive though. Should be £15 tops pay on the day for the football we watch, enjoyable though it is. Anything above that risks losing fans to other activities or just plain doing nowt. These days people can sit at home with an array of websites with live tables, score flashes, live commentary for £35 per year, live text, final score, you name it. It's possible to enjoy an afternoon of football from an armchair for next to nowt. Going to a game has to be made attractive in comparison.

Oh and the ownership business needs to be sorted out.

If it's "only a game" when we lose, why go mental when we win what is only a game :)

Still get the odd "twinge" from that knee. Was all worth it though, one of my career highlights!

Only kidding about the DR by the way!
