Said club are expecting around 16,500 to 17.000 fans at game tomorrow. Leeds have sold 5,500 as of yesterday with a few more expected to be sold today. Pretty poor turnout from us then in that case......

About Butterfield - He said the club HAVE had enquiries about him but no offers as of yet. He does expect him to leave though. Hopes he wont but says that he feels that Butterfield wishes to joining a prem club and it is in no way about money.

If butterfield wants to leave and end up like Hammill then so be it.

As for our poor turnout, let's face it we will get no more than 10k home fans regardless

What did you expect Don 2 games in 6 days at £30 each?

And of course it's about money with Buttercup

I didn't hear the interview, but Dons comments about money........

..........could mean that its not the club wanting to cash in on Butterfield
As opposed to Butters wanting to leave to get more money.

I think it would be better if Butters stayed, firstly to improve his career and secondly because he is our best player and we need all our best players to stay

17000, so that's nearly 10k at £30 a pop, well the majority will be adults especially the away end. Nice little windfall for the January transfer window and a new scoreboard....Wait for the 'we've got no money' statement from him around mid January.

It's not a windfall though as it's not a cup match. This game will be part of the annual budget same as any other. If owt the gate receipts will probably be down on what the club hoped for.

How do you know what the club budgeted for this game? How can you assume receipts will be down? Strangely estimating budgets associated with Barnsley football matches is something that these people are paid to do, they'll have a better handleon it than us punters, that's for sure.

Based on the fact we got 20,000+ last season I would think the club would have budgeted for a similar attendance this season. Either way it's still not a windfall.

I agree it's not a windfall, but I do think they'll have made a decent stab on the gate receipts.

I would hope non season ticket holder sales for matches aren't budgeted for as that would be bad business.

I am a true supporter, being a fan from the dread days of 1967. I bought season tickets for seasons from 67 to 86, and I doubt whether I watched more than 40 matches in that period, due to work commitments both here and overseas. So 30 quid as you put......
