Absolutely spot on with that post Kanecat. Back to the original post, it would be classed as racist if it was a white MP who said something similar about Blacks or Asians and this isn't the first time she has made a 'racist' comment.

Yes you're right about if a white MP had made a similar remark, they would have got the sack or resigned immediately.

You're getting mixed up

The Stephen Lawrence case isn't so infamous because it was a racist attack on a black person. It's because the police made such a ******** of the investigation and the mess they made was put down to the police force being institutionally racist. That's what's kept it in the news all these years.

There have been thousands of racist attacks over the years in this country, most on ethnic minorities, some on whites. They don't continue to make the news because there is only so far you can go with a murder or GBH or whatever and then the story runs its course. In the Stephen Lawrence case it's the police that are the story and that's why it has run and run.

There is a fundamental difference in that the cases of Kriss Commons and Ross Parker (which were both well publicised at the time) were quickly followed by trials and convictions, and the police caught the killers as they didn't botch the cases due to being instituionally racist.

In the case of Charlene Downes the murder wasn't due to racism but presumed paedophilia. The collapse of the trial (again well publicised) was due to police incompetence, not racism.

There are huge numbers of racial hate crimes committed against BME groups that never ever make the paper, the same as there are against white people, and neither is right. Check out this very brief list:

Stephen Lawrence's murder has had so much coverage because it was a racist murder, and everyone knew who did but they were not convicted because of police failings born out of their instituional racism against black. Additionally his parents have refused to let the case drop and their lobbying has meant that policing (and society) in this country has fundamnetally changed.

And ultimately the coverage was because he was a nice, intelligent boy from a good upbringing. If he wasn't no-one, and certainly not the Mail, would have cared less.

No i'm not mixed up at all with the point I was trying to make.

The police royally messed up with the Charlene Downes case, most people haven't even heard of her. They admitted in court they had intelligence of asian men grooming young girls in the area and take away shop where Charlene & Paige were linked to. It was admitted political correctness played a part in no investigation taking place when the allegations were first made.

Even the Mail concedes that it wasn't just white girls so I don't see how it has anything to do with race. So basically two men are accused of grooming young girls, what's the fact they are Asian got to do with anyhting?

But the Charlene Downes case was not a racist attack, that wasn't the motivation, so I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to say in reference to the issue. Unless you just want to highlight all crimes perpetrated by ethnic minorities.

There is a difference though. People are calling out for longer sentences for Dobson & Norris and they were charged as juveniles. The killers of Ross Parker only got 2 years more and they were sentenced as adults. In no way am I saying that Dobson and Norris don't deserve the sentences they got becuase they do. It is also a frightening thought to think that they have been on the streets for all these years and also reading about other crimes they have committed.

With the Charlene Downes case the police openly admitted in court they didn't investigate the initial claims made against the asain men through fear of upsetting the asian community and political correctness, so that makes it a race issue in my opinon. As I said in another post a large number of Asian men have appeared in court over the grooming case this week but there has been a media black out because of fear of racial unrest. Imagine if that was white british men charged with grooming young muslim girls, it would certainly be a different story.

It is becoming more apparent that this has been happening alot and as I said before it has been swept under the carpet through fear of the PC brigade.

47 Asian men were in court in Liverpool, preston & Manchester for grooming this week so I would say being an asain paedophile has alot to do with it. Pity it's been done under a media blackout as parents need to be aware

Again, I'm not sure what race has to do with it, unless the Mail is suggesting that Asian people are predisposed or more likely to be paedophiles and that white people are more predisposed to being groomed.

Strange how you didn't wonder why I thought Kriss Commons was murdered (Celtic footballer). I made a mistake the lad who was murdered was Kriss Donald yet you said you knew about the murder of Kriss Commons as it was widely reported

It's the police cover up of it all that is racist. Those two girls missing presumed dead may still be alive if it wasn't for the ridiculous fear of political correctness. They didn't investigate claims of the Asian paedophiles through fear of upsetting their community.

Because I remember reading all about it at the time, saw the word 'kriss' and my brain automatically made the link to Kriss Donald. I didn't bother looking it up to check the name as I knew about the case, young Scottish lad (ironically i think he was a Celtic fan) murdered at random by a group of Asian men because he was white. Think they set him on fire. Horrible, horrible set of people
