Why have they put a picture of his ex-girlfriend halfway through the article? It has no relevance. Oh, she's a glamour model and it's the Daily Mail.
Re: Why have they put a picture of his ex-girlfriend halfway through the article? You answered your own question, of course - it's because in this age of minor-celebrity culture, she (who I have never heard of, incidentally) will be more familiar to the typical Daily Mail reader than he is, I'm guessing. As you say, no relevance to the actual article. But hey - let's have a pretty girl thrown in there for no apparent reason. Detracts from a story that could have fairly serious consequences for an ex-Red.
Re: Why have they put a picture of his ex-girlfriend halfway through the article? Why on earth would the police be interested?! Its an investment scheme thats gone wrong. It happens. Plenty of footballers go down the same path (invest into mad cap schemes that don't come off) because they have a lot of money and are often ill-advised, relying on their agents rather than taking proper financial advice.
Blimey! McIndoe, would you buy a second hand car of that man? He had a dodgy character, seemed like a lot of trouble as a player, why would you give him money?!?!? I suppose greed blinds a lot of people.
After the chaos caused by Fred the shred at RBS, HBOS and two Scottish Chancellors, why would anyone invest with a Jock?
Anyone who honestly believes they will get a 20% per month return on any investment.. .....need their head read if they choose to invest in such a scheme. 240% a year, yep that sounds realistic!
