Hi Tykes fans, just wanted to congratulate your performance yesterday. Im a season ticket holder at Leicester and we're in a mess plus our fans are a joke on our forums, so much critiscm its frightening. Its nice to move away from some of our joke fans and see some positivity on boards like this. First and foremost, it seems one of the best Barnsley sides i've seen for some time, some technically good players and lots of hard work and passion. Not sure your opinions but Keith Hill seems to be doing a great job and has bought some good players. Drinkwater looks very good. We need to sign players like that! We maybe could of nicked a draw yesterday but i honestly think that would of been an injustice, you should of won by more but it was only kept at 2 by Kasper Schmeichel who has been a god send this season! Good luck for the season and maybe an outside chance of playoffs for you.... Anything is possible lads and credit to a good example of a team that havent spent much but are doing a good job!
Thanks for that Chris, it's always nice to get an opposition fans view of things, to be honest hill wasn't everyones cup of tea when he arrived but he's definitely winning people over now, anyway good look for the season mate and feel free to adopt little ol' Barnsley as your 2nd team and post on here as much as you like lol!
Don't worry, you have good players. It made me smile though to see beckford on bench when got to ground. also not sure if that was the right team/ best team.
Hi Chris, like you say on another day you could have nicked a point, but you're shooting was poor, last time we came down I remember the shooting was phenomenal, especially King, every shot from whatever distance scored or forced a decent save from Steele,I didn't think you were anywhere near as bad as the callers on the radio said, but I did think you looked a little frail at the back,as to the game plan it just seemed to entail long diagonal balls followed by a see what happens lump into the box,I'm not sure about Pearson, but there are a lot of good players at City just needing a game plan that shows more variety, best of luck for the season mate, but TBH I'll be surprised if you can threaten a play off spot....this season at least.Cheers
Welcome to the forum. I picked up yesterday on the negative vibe on your own forum in this thread...... http://v2.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?162634-Leciester-City-Forum Some of your fans seem to forget we were right next to you in the league and should have beaten you at Oakwell.
Cheers mate, we never get anything against your boys usually, I know because one of my mates is a fox. You're right, it's nice to see that money isn't the be all and end all in football every time. Good luck for the season and thanks for making the effort to post
No worries guys. We badly missed big Sol Bamba at the back, he's without doubt our best defender plus we dont have any wide players apart from Lloyd Dyer so we are very predictable and run out of idea's/ Our fans cry out for players like Drinkwater or Vaz Te, just someone who can run or create. Instead we get about 8 centre mids from Sven! On another note, what is Jacob Butterfield like?
Well we did get linked with Butterfield but he's obviously now injured although if i was him, i'd stay where he is! Plus as good as he's meant to be, we dont need any more centre mids although he's prob better than ours! Billy Sharp wont come and he plays for Donny so that tells you what a laughing stock we are!
I dont think your a laughing stock and if you stick with Pearson he`ll get you challenging, but Rome weren`t built in a day. Mandaric f ucked it up for him first time round depends if the new owner gives him time.
I just think the way your club has been run, over the last few years is a joke. The season you got relegated, I think you had more managers than players, there was only ever one outcome for you that season, because nobody could really stamp their mark on the squad, nor could the players get used to one manager, before he was shown the door again. Your current board seems to be trying the method of throwing silly amounts of money at the situation, similar to the likes of QPR, Bristol City, Cardiff and Ipswich have in recent years, and only the former of those 4 have succeeded in getting promoted as a result (however, love him or hate him, they had the right manager for the job). I don't think it's the best way forward, as we are proving; we've relied on free signings from leagues one and two, to try and maintain our status in this division, and have managed to become outsiders for a play-off place. Doncaster have signed the likes of Diouf, Chimbonda, Ilunga; when we played them at home, it was one of the most one sided games i've ever seen, we won 2-0 although it could have been 7 or 8 easy. Away from home, when all of the big names were injured (except from Ilunga), Sharp, Coppinger, Stock and all of the other old names at Doncaster did us over good and proper. It seems money certainly isn't everything in football. My main worry for you guys, is next season if you don't get promoted (which unfortunatly is verging on the impossible i'm afraid), IF these new rules do come into effect, where every clubs spending cannot exceed it's revenue, I struggle to see how clubs like yours can compete? You'll probably have to sell massively in order to be able to bring players in? You talk about Schmeichel, he's one of the most prized assets outside of the premier league, he could be one of the first to go. Good luck for the rest of the season now, hope you can sort things out, i've met a few Leicester fans in the past and never come across a bad one, all the best.
Kasper is one of the best keepers in the division, he should follow in his dads footsteps and sign for United.
