Seem to remember him winning everything in the air and on the floor against him at Oakwell earlier on this season. He didn't give him a kick at Oakwell, it seems Gray had a comfortable afternoon against him again. £5 million was it?

yes, also knocked him to ground late on, hurt Matt Mills.
For winning the ball in the air, davies his the master. Just the right side of cheating.

The ref allowed the defence to pull Gray all over the place...but he still did ok,but Davies gaffered Mills comfortably.

Gray voted MOTM.......but i haven't changed my view about him

.......Gray has always been hard working, and I have said this about him in the past, but in my opinion he isn't good enough for the Championship.
I think Craig Davies is a lot better player. But Davies and Gray are slightly different types of centre forward.
Gray plays with his back to the goal and is good at holding the ball up.
While Davies is good at turning and knocking centre backs about and also good at running into the channels.

I didn't go to the Leicester game but listening to what others have had to say it looks like Keeflicker put a plan together so Gray was the lone striker to hold the ball up until other players from midfield could support him.

Never known a centre forward get so little protection/decisions from referees, it happens every time I see him play (mainly at home), I could understand it from the referees point of view if he were forever complaining and moaning but he doesn`t.

He does complain but its not shouting right in the referees face kind which you see more of nowadays, but maybe the bullying the referee approach may bring about more rewards. Still I`ll have him as he is now.

Thing is, Gray has played most of his career in the Championship. He's still no mug and I wouldn't imagine he has lost anything pace wise. It's hard to criticise his goals ratio this season too.

I imagine some of the criticism of him is tainted by his salary (probably one of the top earners) and the fact that he took up his one year extension when he didn't find a more suitable offer. Some people seem to resent that a little.

Probably in the minority here but l think the only thing Davies can do is put the ball in the net, which we want him to do. His touch, control and general ball work is terrible, he doesn't do half the work Vaz Te puts in for the team, but he's got 9 goals.
