Whilst I am very disappointed with Drinkwater's departure, as I feel it is a huge blow to our play-off dreams, surely this is far better than the events of most transfer windows / deadline days between 2002 and 2010 when we didn't lose anyone (apart from McIndoe), for the simple reason that we were usually so ***** that no fecker would touch most of our players with a barge pole.
True, but that's not the point. The point is that for the first time in ages we now have a wealth of players in our team, all of whom we'd be very disappointed if we lost. Not just the odd one or two like Hammill or McIndoe, but several. That speaks volumes for the changes that we've seen at Oakwell over the last few months.
the problem of losing one of our best players is not really the issue as far as i'm concerned it's the way we have lost him.if a contract is drawn up then it should be adhered to. as far as loyalty is concerned its one way.
If you build a side around loan players then, as it proved last season, it will bite you on the arse!! He was not under contract to BFC, he was on loan and Man Utd had a recall clause in the loan agreement. He owes BFC nothing and we got nothing, but also lost nothing of value that was ours.
your probably right its the dissapoinment thats not letting me think rationally, but i don't think it will have happened to many clubs.
a fantastic piece of scouting by Keith Hill in first place Naturally diappointed Drinkwater has gone but lets raise the decibel level on Saturday and show our appreciation of what the management team have done so far and give em some bargaining power.
