WHUFC_NEWS: West Ham bid of 900k rejected by Barnsley. Expected to go back in with bid of £1.5m. Its like something out of football manager when you're desperate to sign someone. If we get £1.5m for him its incredible, has to be utter nonsense. Apparently Allardyce has made a comment along the lines of "Barnsley could lose him for free in the summer, we're offering them a chance to make a 100% profit on what they paid." Isn't 100% profit on nothing...nothing?
Barnsley should tell Brady, Gold and Sullivan. The deals done today or not at all. We Play tomorrow night which means 6pm onwards the windows basically done for us. We need to maybe get a replacement in.
I'd guess, if West Ham had offered us 900k for Vaz Te.....he'd be blowing bubbles by now.... see what I did there...hey...hey
You really are stupid. You really think if they do bid 1.5 million we should be allowed to call the shots? If they are stupid enough to bid that they can sign him anytime they want before deadline.
Yes, he's a barnsley player. Barnsley player Barnsley player. Not west ham so bansley need to get there squad set for 4 month.
He's our player so it is us calling the shots. If the club are happy to let him go for nowt in the Summer, that is. Let's see how much West Ham want him.
OK so lets just say they were stupid enough to bid 1.5 million. If you want them to turn it down and lose him for nothing in the summer do you plan on finding 1.5 million yourself to donate to the club?
Dreamboy. If west ham want to Bid 1 million they do it today. They don't need, or it seems like they don't want to sell anyone so they have the money. They came out crowing before Christmas about how good there finances were. RVT could be the difference for them. They could do with a LW player and he's a good one for this division. He's known down there by there fans and playing at upton park wouldn't bother him as he's played at bigger stadiums ect.
if and I mean IF thats true £900k...then I tink we are mugs not to take it....but if they do come back with £1.5mill then thats gotta be the greatest bit of business we have done in a long while.
500K apparently haha...... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4097252/West-Ham-to-sign-Ze-Eduardo.html
For a team who's future is dependent on a swift return to the premier league, 1.5m is not an unreasonable price for RVT. His contract status isn't really an issue to a club in their position. If West Ham want him bad enough and they think he's the player to help take them up, they'll pay it. The point folk are missing is that they need him now, not the end of the season. Look at it from their point of view. It's not about getting a player for nothing, it's about scoring goals, winning games and getting promoted. Keith knows....
i hope there's other clubs interested in him, that'll make em think there could be better offers from other clubs knowing there's no transfer fee. they havn't got promo yet.
I agree. I'm fed up of the club getting their belly tickled in negotiations. If Allardyce said this, he can f&ck right off..what's it got to do with him how much profit we make, the fat bellend. Based on current form, he's a top championship striker who could take them up. If they want him then they have to cough up. Hillcroft seem to know what they're doing.
It's a fine balancing act isn't it. We turn West Ham (or anybody else for that matter) down, he does his ligament tomorrow like Butterfield and we don't get any more footy out of him and no fee in the summer (unlike Butterfield, should he choose to go). Furthermore, maybe he doesn't leave us tomorrow, but gets a good indication that a nice signing on fee, bigger wages and a three year contract is waiting for him at West Ham in the summer, so his main concern is not to get injured over the second half of the season. Or we may keep him and he may get another 10 goals. Or we may sell him and he turns out to be rubbish away from Oakwell. Who knows? If Butterfield had done his cruciate the game after the Leeds on, he could maybe now have been on double or triple his current salary whilst recovering, with the safety net of a further two years of that salary even if he didn't make a recovery from his injury. If Butterfield's recovery suddenly goes haywire now and his career ends, his footy (playing) income will have just ended with it. My thoughts are that if Vaz Te shows any inclination to leave and we get offered a decent fee (over £500k) for him we may as well take it. Whatever happens in the future for him at his new club, it will go down as good business from our point of view, in that he cost nothing in transfer fees, very little (I imagine) in wages and he shipped in with a stack of goals and some good performances before making us a tidy profit. In an ideal world, a three year contract with the Reds would be the outcome of choice, but, as stupid as it sounds, we probably can't afford to re-sign our own player now, as his wage demands are probably well above our level after the good work we have done on improving him! Cruel game isn't it. But if Hill can keep the conveyor belt moving in this direction we'll be doing fine, particularly when it's been the other way round (us splashing a transfer fee for a donkey on big wages that does nothing and then leaves for free) for so long.
West ham are in dire need of some more life up front and they are chucking bids left right and centre for front men who aren't big plodders. Sellers market.
Our top goalscorer is priceless at the minute, reject all bids and let him walk for nothing in the summer when we are still a championship club, without his goals this season we would be looking over our shoulder.
