Keith mentioned that when we've had a full weeks preparation we're a match for any side and we start to struggle when we've got matches midweek and then on the weekend - IE less time on the training pitch. What have our results been like when we've had 7 days rest in comparison to weeks where we've played Tuesday/Saturday? Does he have a point?
Rolled over and died against millwall after a full weeks preperation. Murdered leeds after monday/saturday with just 5 days rest.
Full weeks preparation hampered by the loss of Drinkwater. Leeds game slightly different, big crowd, atmosphere, local derby. Also Ricco took over when he wasn't starting to start with. Not saying it's scientific, but interesting.
That on the Saturday? What about when we've not played midweek? Cheers for that, mate. I just can't be arsed looking!
In that way you could come up with an excuse for all our poor performances, if we looked at the opponents when we have had good games I am sure they will have an excuse for them being **** too!! I think that just taking samples that back up you claims is misleading, only my opinion like si`thi!!
I didn't take the samples, Supertyke did. Just asking in general, I'll look in the morning. He might be talking ballacks, but our best results have come after a week's prep I think (Leicester, Reading, Derby etc). EDIT - just taken a look, seems he's talking ballacks.
The highest placed team we've beaten is Hull Who we beat on a Tuesday night after a game on the Saturday. We've lost at home to Bristol City and Millwall (4th and 5th bottom) with 7 days to prepare. We also lost to Donny like (3rd bottom) with only a couple of days to prepare. I'm guessing it's a load of old ballacks and we're more than capable of beating all but the top teams and losing to everyone no matter what preparation we have.
Re: Who cares. We're 15 points clear of the bottom 3. Is that because we are so good or they are really **** this season? I thought that the ones that went down last season were poor , but it seems this season the ones at the bottom are even worse!!! Hard to believe but true.
Re: Who cares. We're 15 points clear of the bottom 3. I honestly don't think it matters. I certainly don't waste any time agonising over it either. Every season is relative to itself and success can only be achieved within that frame of reference. Beyond that, nothing else matters.
Re: Who cares. We're 15 points clear of the bottom 3. Is that our ambition then? Stay up? Might as well shut up shop hadn't we. Set your aims low and you'll very rarely be disappointed, raise them and you might just be impressed.
Re: Who cares. We're 15 points clear of the bottom 3. We are 8 points from the play-offs and 15 points off the relegation places. On balance, we are closer to being play-off challengers than we are to going down. I'd call that relative success. I'm not sure what you expect us to achieve in reality. Mourinho wouldn't get us in the play offs on the budget we have.
Re: Who cares. We're 15 points clear of the bottom 3. Don't think that's our ambition, but it's the still the target. And if we do stay up it'll be the biggest achievement since coming up. Possibly greater.
Re: Who cares. We're 15 points clear of the bottom 3. Only to those that want to see that way. I dont think its any better than previously, but because the manager has continually banged on about it, it must be so!!! Work in progress etc etc etc etc etc
