Having had someone stick their neck out for you on a matter of principle do you think he'll do the honourable thing and announce his retirement?
For the sake of team morale HT. I would imagine quite afew of the England squad won't want him in the team
His ego would not allow him to do that, it is all about John Terry with him. Total pleb. If there are considerable amounts of players who don't want to be near him they should make this known. He was all for a squad rebellion at the last WC so it is obviously ok for it to happen.
The matter of principle is in no way meant to judge affect or reflect the ongoing case allegation. We do not know the full circumstances and it would be both foolish and illegal to make such comments. But it is the ex managers belief he should pick the captain which I think should stand, We cannot have too much interference. He could have accepted his bosses recommendations but I think showed character sticking up for his beliefs that he should be the one to decide as he is in charge. Having stuck with this principle to a point where the ex managers position becomes untenable and results in him leaving would leave a bitter taste with me and I think would cause me to back the manager and walk away.
List of players coming out in support of John Terry? I think that says all we need to know about what players think of him. So innocent until guilty he is , but the FA know he has little if no respect in the England squad, so then they had no choice but to do what they did.
The farce in south Africa The pissing on bars on nights out The continuing cheating on his wife The Wayne bridge saga The continuing racist saga. Could go on.
Because its the right thing to do, the honourable thing to do and in the best interests of the national team. All reasons why he wont.
He retires midway through most games. Or looks like he does anyway. Especially if the opposition's not just aiming long balls into the area.
After the Euros he will. This is his last chance to play at a major tournament so don't see him retiring until then.
