Is this a record? Having 3 TV matches in one season!?!? Is this a record? Having 3 TV matches in one season!?!? I can see why they've picked this match as it's probably gonna be the match West Ham clinch promotion to the PL. But even with TV money we are gonna lose a lot of ticket income. They'd probably have brough 7,000+ on a Saturday at 3.00pm and created a good atmosphere like Wolves did a few year back. Hope the club put this down to Category C match now to encourage more fans to come down.
Re: B@stards...... is it only me who cant see why so many folk on here would complain at this? the bbc put us on tv (obviously because we are playing west ham i know) however, we get a fee, the club/town/players get national exposure and we get an extra day off before our next match... if west ham are in anyway near to being promoted the north stand is going to be toppers anyway win win as far i can see
Re: B@stards...... I may be being selfish but its now a match I can't go to, who's gonna work good friday night for me lol
Ours, and West Hams, advantage is over our next opponent. Why is the early game a disadvantage in this game, same for both sides.
Re: I don't care Your impression is wrong. FL are approached, then the club, then SYP. Any party could refuse.
Very Disappointing ... The only reason we exist as a club is because of Good Friday The playing of a Rugby Fixture on a Good Friday 125 years ago this April so upset Tiverton Preedy that he decided to form a club of his own. For many years after the departure of our Founder to London we respected this most important day in the Christian calendar and declined to play fixtures on this date. Of all seasons since, I thought on this one we would remember where we came from and why we were formed. But then along comes Thirty Pieces of Silver and .........
In principle I agree, however I applaud any undermining of religous nonsense irrespective of tradition. sithi.
Re: In principle I agree, however I applaud any undermining of religous nonsense quite possibly the best post ever to be made on this fair bbs........
Re: Very Disappointing ... The only reason we exist as a club is because of Good Frid It could be argued that there would be no greater tribute to the Rev than to boycott the game.............I'm not back from my holiday until Saturday so I won't be going anyway
Re: Very Disappointing ... The only reason we exist as a club is because of Good Frid can remember going to grimsby on a good friday, afternoon match, late seventies early eighties.
Don't get me wrong but ... Without one mans intolerance of the undermining of Religious nonsense..... We would not exist and that's what I feel we are ignoring. We should celebrate where we came from not sweep it aside.
