Scenario 1: A football fan is suspected of being racist at a football match on 31st January . Within 8 days this man has been at court regardless of his employment, found guilty and banned from all football grounds for 3 years. Scenario 2: A football player is suspected of being racist at a football match on 23 October last year. A court date is put back till July, NINE MONTHS after the offence. If found guilty he is likely to recieve a two month ban and a fine of 2 hours wages. Scenario 3: Another footballer is found guilty of racially abusing someone at a football match. He is banned for two months. Why are supporters treated so differently to the arseholes on the pitch?
I agree with what you are saying but if no 3 is Suarez it is different. His wasn't a court. FA dealt with him.
Which is even more bizarre surely? There has been a claim of racial abuse made, there has been publicity about this care, the FA have investigated and found him guilty and yet the police haven't even bothered investigating it?
Agreed. John Terry is everything that is wrong in a human being and sportsman. He has been given the honour of capatining his country despite his moronic attitude to his team mates partner, his team mate, fellow professional(s). He then attempts to throw money at it in an attempt to hide away from it...........and Chelsea have supported him all the way through it. If any of us lot in the "real world" were caught red-handed racially abusing soembody, we would be suspended from work pending an immediate enquiry. To be honest, the majority of pro footballers are likley to be decent people.....it's just total wasters like John Terry that give them all a bad name. Start a thread : "Football's Greatest W @ nkers"........I will start it:- 1. John Terry 2. Ashley Cole 3. El Hadj Diouf 4.
4. Wayne Rooney 5. Steven Gerrard 6. Frank Lampard 7. Rio Ferdinand The england side isn't looking too good is it...
Football is a law unto itself.... What other profession has farcical laws like football has.... bosman, transfer window etc etc. Dichotomy for me.... I love football, the game, the excitement, the occasion. But I'm growing more and more disenfranchised from footballers, the FA , England, etc. Can i think of an england footballer i really like? Struggling.... Looking forward to Euro 2012? No..... My worst nightmare is if one of my daughters brought a footballer home .....
Ian Wright is getting on my nerves Preaching about the John Terry incident constantly in the press. Pity he didn't stand up to be counted and make a complaint against Schmeichel when he racially abused him.
Your scenario 1 is ridiculous. Nobody in this country would be found guilty within 8 days. He may plead guilty, which is a different thing altogether.
Graham Roberts dirty bar steward "did" Gwyn Thomas when Chelsea visited Oakwell in 1980's...........very similar to Michael Brown and Butters (IMO anyway)
He also allegedly has a bad gambling problem. Remortgaged his house 4 times, his mortgage is now supposedly double the value of his house. Remortgaged the house he bought for his in laws and tried to sell the house he bought for his parents. He also allegedly once asked for a sub on his wages, that's unbelievable if true with the amount he's on. Must have a serious gambling problem
No he didnt!! It was Darren Wood that did Thomas. He regrets his actions now though. He has several stalls selling cooked meats and bacon and pies, he has two in Barnsley market plus a couple in Castleford, Sth Elmsall etc. I have talked to him about it and he admitted doing Gwyn, I turned down a job with Wood on principle.
