That really helps us though doesn't it. Try and be more competent next time you useless ****er. Or less scared of the upsetting the "big name" on their bench.
Well looking at both goals, he got both completely wrong. He couldn't have done much worse really. However, not many refs have the balls to admit they made a mistake and apologise so I think he should be commended for doing so. It doesn't help us right now, but it helps you to respect him a bit more.
Refs are only human and mistakes will be made, the question is what can be learned to improve the refereeing, if something can be learnt all good. Just hope we get the next dodgy decision to go in our favour.
I wouldn't say it was mad, l wish there were more refs like that. I didnt go to the game so l assume its the one where Done was flagged for offside? The referee wasn't the one holding the flag...
I can accept they make mistakes, like you say they are only human, however what I can't accept is when they bottle decisions and favour the bigger club. I'm not saying that the ref on Tuesday did this but I know it happens and I feel that bottling is as bad almost as bad as cheating. How you prove it and kick the weak refs (probably most of them) out of the game is another matter.
Nice to see him admitting it, makes a change but no forgiveness, it was an apalling decision. Done was yards onside and I am not convinced that Davies was offside either, all round poor effort from lineo and ref.
reasons like this why we should have video technology... whether you like it or not, it works perfectly in other sports, so why should ours be any different?
I bet he wouldn't have called if we'd have lost by only one goal. It's easy to be contrite when it doesn't matter.
Re: I bet he wouldn't have called if we'd have lost by only one goal. He made a mistake that's all. He didn't threaten to machete the first born in the whole of Barnsley. Whilst this is very frustrating what can the Ref do after the event ? By apologising he has acknowledged his mistake. Whilst this is not wholly satisfactory I fail to see what additional steps he could take. He may get downgraded by the officials panel as a sanction but again that does not help us. PS... I assume that everyone on this board has never made a mistake ?
Re: I bet he wouldn't have called if we'd have lost by only one goal. Listening the Burnley commentary the other week, commentator said Burnley should have had a stonewall penalty and that we seemed to get away with the ball crossing the goal line in the first half. Do we get the majority of wrong decisions against us or is it swings and roundabouts throughout the season? By the way dont know if commentator was right or wrong because i didn`t see the decisions discussed on here and haven`t seen any footage.
Re: I bet he wouldn't have called if we'd have lost by only one goal. Why get on at me - I'm not looking for him to be hung drawn and quartered. The ref made a mistake, acknowledged it and apologised, end of. I was simply making the point that he probably would have been more reluctant to comment had the result been closer. Tek a chill pill ffs.
