If you have played a decent level then you fully well know that an 18 year old 'kid' cannot possibly burn out if given a run of 6 or 7 games in the first team, Digby will have more energy than Speedy Gonzalez on Viagra. Why wouldn't you play Digby for a run of games ??? he's obviously good enough so get the lad blooded How can the kid burn out at 18 years old for Christ sake !! Whether Digby is 18 or 38 years old if he's good enough he is old enough. Give Digby a run in the team and blood him in, just like some of the other young uns we have coming through, even though I am not 100% convinced we are totally safe yet from relegation, I would still have the likes of Rose and Digby playing than the dross of JayMac and Dagnall who are doing nothing more than stealing a living whilst wearing our shirt. Yes you were quite correct in your comments of Digby is good enough than please Mr Hill play play play play play him An 18 Year old getting burn out from running around for 90 minutes = MY ARSE
Re: Hemsworth Good Evening - Q: Re: Digby - Have you played a decent level of footba I don't think it's the physical energy supply that is the problem for youngsters, it's the mental pressure that takes it's toll. They have to learn to cope, so they are broken in gently
Re: Hemsworth Good Evening - Q: Re: Digby - Have you played a decent level of footba good night in the boozer???
Take your point mate but think we pussy foot around to much - Give Digby 6 games or so and get him battle hardened both physically and mentally. I have watched Rose in action for the reserves and he can score goals at championship level no problem...but he has to be given the opportunity, 10 minutes every 8 games and getting splinters on his arse whilst watching Dagnall and Jaymac take the p*ss every week does nothing to help mature our rising young stars. Throw them in for 3 or 4 games, I would not mind one bit if we lost blooding 3 or 4 youngsters, hopefully we are now safe so Hill has nothing at all to lose by blooding them. Our team will look completely different next season as Hill needs to unload some old legs and players that simply aren't up to this level, chuck the young uns in and give them a taste.
It was a good night watching my little un score a hat trick at BFC's academy Was it a good night for you in the HE-SHE bar in Portsmouth :biggrin::biggrin:
Re: It was a good night watching my little un score a hat trick at BFC's academy you seem to know of its existence??
Your number was on the toilet wall - men in leather chaps with a moustache is a must Have you been drinking ??
Re: Take your point mate but think we pussy foot around to much - Give Digby 6 games I agree about Rose, I'd much rather watch him than the statue that is andy gray
Re: Hemsworth Good Evening - Q: Re: Digby - Have you played a decent level of footba He's only just turned 17 this year. When he's 18 he will be even better
Dreamboy I totally agree, so why wait - get him in for 5 or 6 games and give Digby a run in the side, and throw Rose in also, they won't burn out !!!! or do you want to see Jaymac and Dagnall wearing the shirt instead ???
Re: Dreamboy I totally agree, so why wait - get him in for 5 or 6 games and give Digb It's not a decent level though its elite level coupled with the mental aspects of pressure and wanting to perform. I'm not saying don't play him, I think they should, but you can't just Wang him in game after game regardless.
Re: Dreamboy I totally agree, so why wait - get him in for 5 or 6 games and give Digb Do you think thats what Everton thought when they had Rooney?
Re: Dreamboy I totally agree, so why wait - get him in for 5 or 6 games and give Digb Do you work for the academy by any chance?
Re: Take your point mate but think we pussy foot around to much - Give Digby 6 games aggree wath and west, get him in and give him some game time,if we can afford to play for draws, then we can afford to try our younger players out.
Re: Dreamboy I totally agree, so why wait - get him in for 5 or 6 games and give Digb You can't compare every young player to Rooney, there are always going to be exceptions, and as I said its more a case of considering the elite level they play at and the fitness and concentration etc required for 90 mins, I work with an ex pro who played in the prem and we often wind him up about how 2 games a week is easy but like he says, when you are playing at that level its far from it, its both physically and mentally draining.
