But I imagine there has been the following topics: - We are rubbish - Andy Gray assisting Flitcroft with the coaching?! He can’t even play himself - McNulty trying to play too much football again, should have just booted him in to the stand - Hill isn’t really ill, he’s been sacked/resigned - Some deep, existential crisis about the very being and nature of Barnsley FC Meanwhile I spent the afternoon with a pint in the sun yesterday with my dad, talking about the last 15 years of BFC. - Two promotions - Two play-off finals - One FA Cup semi-final - Two trips to Wembley - One trip to the Millenium Stadium - Twice beat Liverpool at Anfield - Beat Chelsea in an FA Cup semi-final - Beat Man Utd - Seem set to complete our 6th unbroken season in Championship So basically our best ever 15 year post-war period. The next best 15 year period being from 1981-96 when we enjoyed a 15 year continuous spell in the second tier as the club laid the foundations for promotion to the Premier League. Which given I was born in 1981, and didn’t have to endure the dark days before that, made me feel pretty lucky to have been a Barnsley fan over the last 30 years.
Perspective You b.stard happy clapping accepting mediocrity Hill ****** you. You know something - the days of the 4th division were brilliant - next to fck all expectations. Until Jim Iley started getting us towards the top, then it got nasty.....
Everything's w@nk cos we're not spending loadsa money and not getting in the play offs. In a nutshell, fowk are bored. Too much championship manager/sky sports news.
Ps - Andy Gray was helping with the coaching ? Fantastic, warm bath and razor blades for some on here then.
I was bored shitless during 1984-1996 league games as well apart from that time when we thought we had made the play offs but hadn't, remember saying to my dad at the time "nowt ever happens, no promotion, no relegation we just stay in the middle" The cup runs made that period exciting, when the FA Cup was more exciting than the league.
That's quite a refreshing post, mate A good read, providing a different perspective to the norm. Nice one.
Re: That's quite a refreshing post, mate I think I'd add Leeds at home this year too, forget the Millenium, best New Years Eve ever.
