They don't allow it. Even in the exec suite you have to drink in the bar area. I did have a *** at Wembley though when we lost to Cardiff if that helps.
Mate, I think you need to read what you are about to post and qualify what you are asking a bit more clearly sometimes. I'm assuming the question relates to the daft rule that says you cant drink alcohol whilst in view of the pitch during a premiership or league game ? If it does, then in my opinon, it needs to be looked at so football (prem & league) fans get treated the same as nonleague, rugby etc.
I think it's balls that we cant have a pint and watch footy. More alcohol=more singing/better atmosphere & a lot more money for the club. I know there's the odd knob head, but i do like a pint whilst watching footy.
At least you could drink it in peace and there's not much chance of spilling it when we score. And if we go one down, we're never going to win so you might as well get trolleyed and try to forget you just spent thirty quid to watch that and another thirty trying to forget about it. Actually, I'm against it.
Could you imagine the up roar it would cause on here? People on here don't even like people smoking in the smoking areas at Oakwell, don't like people standing up, so what would they be like if someone came to his seat with a round of ale for him and his mates. I'm up for it just to pi55 the like of SuperTyke off.
If it was a decent pint at a decent price and not some rank watered down **** then I'd probably have a pint.
It's something else i think should be re-introduced. If you think about it, say they make a bottle £2.50/£3 or something just imagine how many people would drink and how much money the club would get from it. I know people will be against it, but hey ho
Maybe because there are no smoking areas at Oakwell. As for alcohol, I wouldn't mind at all, but you may get the odd pi55 head who thinks its funny to throw their 1/2 full ( or 1/2 empty if ur a moaner) plastic glass in the air IF we score. But then they could do that now with their bovril or coffee.
I just don't understand why there's the need to drink during the football. Ok people enjoy it, but there are many people who turn up having had more than enough. Think of the people getting up every time they finish their drinks to get another, and then the bathroom breaks. That said, maybe it'd work in a standing zone/area/environment. Might also create more atmosphere.
Not something I would be favour of. There is more than enough opportunity to drink before and after the game.
I probably go along with that, it's not like in the States when a game goes on for hours, and people are leisurely (generally) about the drinking. But I do like the atmosphere over there, vendors in the stands so you don't even have to leave your seat to get a beer (well, if you are happy to drink the piss that is, if you want craft beers they are available from the bars in the stadium). Can't see that working here, would people in the row pass the money up and the drink back down? One baseball game I went to in NY, a guy caught a fly-ball in his beer cup, he looked really pleased with himself and then looked at his cup and realised he'd spilled all his beer! The look on his face was priceless!
That's because they aa=re stood around the entrance to the East Stand and you have to walk through all the smoke to get in the stand! And the whole stadium is supposed to be non-smoking. But drinking would be different as that wouldn't impact on others in the same way.
They can't even get the lager cold in the East Stand At £50 a go. Don't introduce more chaos before the half bakes at Oakwell can get it right.
I'd give it 3 weeks Before some player gets pelted with half-filled pints of beer while trying to take a corner.
Re: I'd give it 3 weeks That's what you get if it's ***** beer! Wouldn't get me paying £3 a pint and then lobbing it. They should do a deal with Acorn and get bottles of Acorn beers available.
