Re: Jacob still at university I see - I rest my case - when you grow up come back to

The one thing for certain that would help Mick (and his transfer budget) is the fact that the attendances would be much better under him than what we are seeing under Keith Hill. And also what's to stop Mick joining with a new board? None of us know what's round the corner in football. Plus look at what Swansea achieved for £7 million. Football is cyclical and I feel Barnsley are at a key stage. Keith Hill's destiny will be decided in the next 12 months. This time next year he will either be a hero or he will be one of the most hated managers in our clubs history alongside Spackman and Parkin.

If ive said it once ive said it a thousand times - Mick McCarthy has no intention of ever managing barnsley football club, that has come straight from the horses mouth

You might be right. I am not questioning you either. Just simply trying to make the point that a character (like Mick) from a successful period in our clubs history would have an impact on the club. And we really could do with something like that at this time. There are many fans from the late 70's and 80's that could be tempted back more regularly with an inspirational change at the top.

I read that and came to conclusion that you never gave Hill a chance in the first place.

    Are you serious?

I've never seen a team work as hard as ours has this year.

I agree the work rate has been very high, but for me Saturday was the first time I saw heads drop and some players seemed to be going through the motions second half (cant comment on away games though).

Just an observation Dys not a dig, Hill needs to rally the troops, backs to the wall and all that and stop playing loanees when he doesn`t need to. Andy Gray is once again missing out for Nouble, earlier in season it was Ranger it doesn`t do squad players any good thinking that the gaffer would bring anyone in than play them. Robins did the same last season putting contracted players second to loan players its not good for team moral IMO and certainly pisses fans off using Championship games to have a closer look at prospective signings.

I love Mick McCarthy but there is absolutely no evidence that he is capable of doing anything with a small budget, certainly no better than Hill. And given that Hill has done well on a small budegt imagine what he could do with some money to play with, so why would you sack him if a new board came in with money (which isn't going to happen).

Didn't see it as a dig mate!

I agree entirely - I'd much rather we were using players we had here next year (Digby instead of Doyle, Dagnall instead of Nouble etc) with Tonge/Cotterill thrown in as a bit of experience. But it's easy to say that when we're chasing points. Think there's been too much chopping and changing for months now but probably because we've been rubbish.

Aye the forever changing team doesn`t help and yes there have been injuries and enforced changes but Steele must be the only guy who knows he`ll be playing on matchday.
