Anyone else and it would be double that
How much would it be if he played for Leeds or the Blunts?
How much did Leeds get for Howson (I think his name was) who int a patch on Butters?

Its a pathetic price for the best young midfield player in the Championship !!!!!!!!!!!!!

It makes me wonder why so much time and effort is put into the academy.....surely it would be better to close the academy and pick up players going cheap such as Perkins

Barnsley is the football equivalent of Aldi.........stack um high and sell um cheap

    Very very disappointed...............AGAIN

But if a player doesn't want to sign a contract, what do you do? We've offered the best possible contract we can.

I'm sure the Port Vale and Leyton Orient fans are cursing us for taking their players on what they consider to be the cheap taking advantage of their situations.

    Pervert.

Only joking!! There was ALWAYS talent in the academy Hemsie baby, it doesn't mean they will grow up to be players and you can not gamble that they will or the club will freefall down the leagues.

What are you wearing by the way? Anything casual, or... sporty?

Clubs will just stop bothering to develop young talent when all they get is a kick in the nuts as soon as they show any potential. Of course the kick in the nuts is a lot harder for some clubs as they always seem to be mugged in the transfer market.

The problem we'll always have is Barnsley is an unfashionable town with an unfashionable team. The only time we bucked that trend was paying considerable transfer fees and increasing wages that were unsustainable.

It's always going to be easier for bigger clubs to get players on longer term contracts because they are more lucrative and perceived that they have a shot at promotion. Like it or not, unless we can get over 20,000 fans every week or break into the premier league again, we are a stepping stone club with little power to wield.

The biggest problem we've got is that Butterfield is out of contract. Simple as that. The fact theres even talk of £2m astounds me.

Ther's no guarantee he'll come back from his injury and if he does what's the betting he goes back into his shell where he'd only just started to emerge from.

When I look at selling young players I always look at the BLUNTS

............£1 million for Slew.........he played about 4 games.......is Butters, an established Championship player, a under 21 international only worth double of Slew

£10 millon for the two Kyles the two young fullbacks sold to Spurs..........

    Jakelka ..........£4 million to Everton

The list goes on and on and on and on

No 5h1t Sherlock! Except.... ...we'd normally be lucky to get 250k. I'll be very happy with £2m for him.
