A few years ago we struggled and got relegated into the 1st Division
And we have done nothing but struggle since we came out of the 1st Division.
Because of this the fans are just drifting away.
I've always been a supporter of Pat Cryne in fact I've said that there should be a statue outside the club to celebrate his achievements of saving the club.
    However, enough is enough.
Today the town of Barnsley and the people of Barnsley were humiliated and embarrassed by Barnsley Football Club solely because of the poor investment into that football club.

Mr Cryne..........if you can't stand the heat then FFS get out of the kitchen.

I guess that Barnsley Football Club might just be the least of his concerns at the moment.

do you really think he gives two shits about football at the moment with his court case? even if he was to leave who's going to come in for him? Doyle again? Rich oil Arab? we haven't got any mega rich fans so calling for his head is unproductive and unrealistic, and makes you look like a bit of a ****.

Cryne has put literally millions into this club from his own back pocket and it's obviously not sustainable for him to continue doing so, Your solution of spend spend spend would turn us into portsmouth.

No, not an arab don't be so ****ing childish. What we need is a board who actually has some ideas and sets their sights higher than fourth bottom and demands better from the manager and players.

As for the millions spent, he's got a valuable asset and could have got it much less if he hadn't let Doyle get it.

Be careful what u wish for

Without pc we could be in trouble.

Its not long ago you were biggin him up! The issue is we are trying to run bfc like a corner shop!

If we dont get any quality in we will be down before the trimmings next year.

I am and will remain eternally grateful to Cryne for what he's done but I am starting to think that we have reached a tipping point as a championship club if we want to allow Hill to invest and take us forwards. It's true that Cryne has other issues going on right now but don't we all, didn't Mandaric down the road at Swillsbro and he still found time to run the club. What worries me is that if he is as active in seeking investment as he is in communicating with the fans through the media it's highly unlikely we'll ever get anybody. As Redstar quite rightly points out ideas, drive and commitment are just as important as money.

I do not belive that Cryne is interested in moving it on or even expanding the board. If he was it would have happened by now.

Does Cryne even go to the matches these days.

Reading J Dennis' book he said he always made a point of going in to see the players after every match whetever the result. Cryne has never seemed so hands on.

The set up at board level at BFC just seems so amateurish. No long term and short term Plans.

I dont particularly want Cryne out but Wish he would sort out a board of forward thinkers with some ideas and a bit of backbone.

You are right I think about the setup and the planning. Just look at the pathetic celebrations of the FA Cup win. SFA done.

It would take a miracle for him to invite people on board.

He's only been once or twice this season I believe. What with the case and everthing.

    I love Guiness I do.

We're averaging 10,000 gates man, how are we supposed to compete with the clubs that double that every other week and/or have parachute payment from the Premier League? Your basically asking for a mega rich bloke to come in and spend loads of money getting us promoted to the premier league. If he's not a fan of Barnsley then why the **** would anyone do that?

I'm all for idea's but most of them will involve something we haven't got.......money. I don't like losing 4-0 at home on live BBC1 but you have to be realistic 4th from bottom is about the best were going to do without some investment, but getting investment is about as likely as us beating Blackpool 4-0 on Monday

Read the post again old ****, I'm far from asking for a money bags to come in, in fact what I'd like is a board of smaller investors to come in who could drive the club forward with ideas and determination. It is possible but there is no willingness from Cryne to do it.

It needs to be a board that banishes the idea that fourth bottom is good enough, because it isn't. It's only four months ago that Hill was talking about a push into then top ten, so he wants more, I'm sure he does.

These posts relate to OTHER issues that Pat Cryne is mixed up with............

...............I dont give a flying f**k what Pat Cryne is mixed up with........all I am interested in is how Barnsley Football Club can move forward.

And, as has been suggested on here, that Pat Cryne has more important things to think about then he should STOP being so self centred and actually think about the 9, 10, 11 thousand people that are going down to Oakwell every other week to witness a good management team struggling because of the total lack of funds

I agree with you in principle but who would invest? why would you want to invest even a (relatively) small amount of money in to BFC if you weren't a fan of the club already? Are we likely to be promoted to Premier League in the next 4-5 years so the investors could sell the shares or collect some dividends? I would love to see some ambition at the club where they state that their aim is promotion at the start of every season but that could just make the situation worse as people would then have false expectations.

At the moment I'm much more pissed off with Keith Hill for playing defensively at home than I am with the board. Though i suppose the board has to shoulder some of the responsibility in Hill's appointment

People would invest in return for a place on a board, I know it. We could appeal for say 6 peope to invest £500k each to start off with and then form a board and these people commit time and effort to the club with a strategy to grow income outside gate receipts and then some belief about the place in ourselves.

Ideas are not encouraged at present IMHO.
