After spending the past 3 months listening to absolute ******* drivel on this message board and down at oakwell on match days about how **** our players are and how **** our manager is and how **** our owner is I've come to the conclusion that Barnsley fc should wrap up. At least it'll save everyone some money on a Saturday afternoon and not ruin our weekends! Come on let's get realistic here, we are in a pickle but look at the facts to our demise: •No money •Our 3 best players gone • A depleted squad though to a large number of injuries Everyone's slating hill but surely he can only piss with todger he's got. I just hope the bbc viewers didn't hear half the ground start laughing when the man of the match was announced, i don't think there was a worthy man of the match tonight but laughing at our own players is a total joke. People who defend the club, players and manager on this board often get slated so I expect a barrage of criticism but to be quite honest I couldn't give a monkeys toss.
"People who defend the club, players and manager on this board often get slated so I expect a barrage of criticism but to be quite honest I couldn't give a monkeys toss. " I would like to bet they dont get as much stick as anyone that has a go a Hill!!!
I don't want Hill out And I also don't think he's a bad manager. I also appreciate we've lost most of our best players. However, today's performance was rubbish. It seems I'm not entitled to say that though.
Re: I don't want Hill out No you are now a Hill Hater!!! No way to be in the middle, got to be for or against! These are now the facts of being a Barnsley fan> Stupid really, because we had some cracking debates on here, you could have your say and people would have their say, at the end it was just a debate, now its like WW3
Look mate, this business of tarring other posters before they get chance to respond isn't cool. There's too much of it goes on on here - rise above. "He can only piss with the todger he's got" - that has to be the best and funniest summary of the current position I've read. Superb. I reckon the vast majority of fans understand the problems we face, which have been compounded by some shitty breaks over the last few months. Whilst hundreds walked out at half time in fury, thousands more stayed and showed good support in the 2nd half tonight - it indicates that we all know that we're struggling badly to compete at this level right now. Ultimately, we're all battling with the question of whether this is just how it has to be now, with the way money has taken over football, or whether we could and should be doing better despite the financial constraints we're under and the bad trot of luck we've experienced. Some will decide on the latter, some will go OTT in expressing it, but at the end of the day they're well entitled to their view and care as deeply as you or I do. And I apologise, but I did laugh when they announced Foster as man of the match. I thought his distribution was woeful, and is one of the key problems with Keith's strategy at the moment - the opposition know that to close down McNulty and the midfield will most likely lead to Foster gifting the ball back to them, and IMHO has been a distinct game plan for various opponents over the last few months. Like you say there wasn't a worthy MOTM, but to choose Foster was as bizarre a choice as they could make. I really wish they'd knock the MOTM award on the head in games like that!
Re: I don't want Hill out Opinions are what make us all tick but this relentless negativeness is boring now. I respect anyone's views but this board is so predictable after a defeat. (and yes tonight was *****)
Re: I don't want Hill out Of course you are. Too many comments like this on the board nowadays, which doesn't help. You know full well how it used to be, there were always plenty ready to have a pop, just far fewer folk being so precious about it. I feel exactly the same about the performance today mate, and most would probably have me in the 'pro Hill' and 'glass half full***' camps. If others don't like what you've got to say, f*** them, but don't let it stop you saying it FFS. The board is dead enough as it is. *** of course this is metaphorically speaking. My actual glass is close to empty within 5 seconds of me filling it.
Re: I don't want Hill out its probably so predictable after a defeat cause thats all we are experiencing!!
Maybe not, but I guess they heard the West Ham fans piss take, singing "only one Steven Foster" afterwards.
I think it's only fair to treat different posters differently though... For example if I see orsenkaht or BarnsleyBomber criticising anything about the club I tend to ignore it. When people who are normally positive, either on here or Twitter, are down and unhappy with the performance for me it carries a little more weight. I've written a blog on the challenge facing Hill, I completely understand that we have no money, he's signing loan players and lower league players because that's all we can afford - but it doesn't excuse leaving Nolan unmarked 2 yards out from a corner, giving the ball away all the time etc.
JC, it is Hills team. He signed that lot. Can't understand why a large portion of our fans are coming out with excuses. We all know we lost our best 3 players but what about the standard of the other 15 or so?
To be fair from christmas to the present time I've no argument on the the performances of hills players but pre Christmas we was playing some lovely stuff and looked capable of scoring against any team. So we know that these same players are capable of performing far better.
I know what you mean, but do you not think he should have replaced the lads we lost in January with at least similar quality. Or, and I have said it before on here, not allowed Vaz Te to leave until the summer. Lost season ticket money, poorer financial gain from a lower league position finish and the fact that we are an even less attractive proposition for players now balances with cash gained from that sale.
Re: I don't want Hill out Am sick of hearing this lost our 3 best players rubbish Vaz te played 22 games 10 of those were as a sub if he was so fantastic why did Hill see fit to start him from the bench 50% of the time Butterfield and drinkwater only completed 7 full games together and in those games the team won wait for it .. Once Come on people get a grip and stop banging on about losing best 3 players
Re: I don't want Hill out You might be sick of hearing it but it is a fact. Poorer players raise their own game when quality is in the side. I for one think Butterfield and Vaz were the biggest losses. That display against Leeds was worth the season ticket money alone.
Re: I don't want Hill out you'll not find a post on this board by me where I slate Hill or call for his head. I understand his restrictions I know we have no money I have no problem with the signing of lower league players But he has made some big mistakes and some team selections have been baffling. e.g playing for a draw at Coventry was mad, not replacing Butts with a creative player even madder I dont blame anyone for having a dig at the board, or lack of it
Re: I don't want Hill out It doesnt excuse our form for the past 3 months I'm afraid - Hill should have brought in players that could do a job for us now, sadly the significant portion of the players he has signed haven't, its sad that we are reliant on 3 teams being worse than us to stay up. I can't see us gaining another point this season, there is always a team that gets sucked in at the end of the season, right now I feel it's us. Coventry away was the pivotal point for me.
