Hope this guy becomes more than a sponsor for the club. Successful local businessman and BFC lover? Could be the new John Dennis! Let's have those two running things and give Dizzy Don and Taylor the boot. Upwards and onwards.
Not withstanding John Dennis's undoubted pedigree as a BFC fan ,anyone who thinks he should be allowed within a million miles of running the business of BFC needs a straight jacket and a padded cell.
He's not exactly excelled in the buisness department has he , affable chap that he is bringing the club to the point of extinction , in my opinion, excludes him from ever holding any position at BFC again.
Suppose you wouldn't have Richard Branson as a benifactor either them. After all he's been the owner of failed business and by his own admission was only two days away from going under with Virgin Atlantic. Thing is most Business owners learn from mistakes and go on to be much better for it.
I agree to an extent however I think the club generally would benefit greatly from having JD back on the board in one way or another, perhaps not as owner but certainly as an influential member.
Unfortunately thats just not true , most failed buisness's don't recover and their owners don't either. obviously the Bransons of this world are in another multi-national universe where banks prop their buisnesses up and profit and loss count for little
No, but we had planned to use money that was due to us. Hardly BFC's fault neither the FL nor ITV made sure it was paid as was promised.
Thats a big box to put people in. Where did you find that statistic. Just wondered what the percentage was. So Barnnsley FC as a failed business will probably never recover then! Perhaps you ought to let Sheffield Wednesday owner not to spend any more money either then. I think you have a duty of care.
It was the fault of Barnsley though to budget for money they hadn't got yet. Yes we expected to get it, but no plans were in place for the possibility of the new venture of ITV Digital not working out, which is what happened.
Going into admin without the shareholders approval was his biggest mistake. We were only £2 million in debt and owned land that was worth twice that. PD purchased the club by mortaging the land if I'm not mistaken. Could have sold off a car park to pay the debt off - I think JD threw the towel in too quickly and washed his hands of it.
What a load of ****, the money was contractually due to all FL clubs. You don't assume something will fail when there are guarantees in place!
We all budget using money we haven't already got but are contractually expecting to get therefore I don’t think Barnsley did anything wrong by budgeting using forecasted income.
