Read More from the official site...

NOTE: The number of page impressions the club get on the official site also improves the ammount of money going into the club coffers. We all know we need every penny we get our hands on so if you'd got out of the habit of visiting the club site then could I suggest you visit it more frequently?
The club are aware of the short comings of the site and plans are in place to rectify these.

Early Bird = delay on increase, NOT a discount!

As someone who will renew their season ticket regardless of, I must admit that this so-called 'promotion' is a huge disappointment to me, and I think it sends out some potentially worrying signals to supporters.

First of all, much like the category system and 1912 scheme, this 'promotion' is an attempt to disguise a £40-£50 price increase on season tickets, depending on where you sit. At best you get to pay the same price for your seat as last season, and have to renew incredibly early to get this.

Additionally, the fact that they are trying to get people to renew so early compared to other seasons sends out the wrong signals. It suggests that either
    i) the Board weren't sure which division we'd be playing in next season when this was announced so were trying to get people to renew before this was confirmed; or
ii) they're trying desperately to get funds into the club to cover the summer costs, rather than to fund a renewed campaign next season.

On both counts, it smacks a bit of desperation (which is the last message that should be being sent out) and it's yet another example of a poorly considered plan by the BFC board. They had a huge amount of time to come up with something for the 100yr cup win anniversary and the 125yr anniversary and this is the result. Pretty piss poor, in my opinion, yet I'll be sucked into following it as I'd have renewed anyway, so it at least makes sense to do so before the price increase kicks in.

However, if I was a non-season ticket holder deciding what I wanted to do next season, there's nothing in this offer to make me want to part with my cash. The early bird offer isn't worth doing, as all the best seats will still be unavailable due to the exisiting season ticket renewal deadline not having been reached. I'd probably want to pay the extra cash after 31st May once the non-renewed seats (of which I'd expect there to be plenty) have become available and most likely get a much better seat.

Also, last season, I had the option of paying installments at no extra cost. This year there is a £20 admin fee to do the same thing, so in effect another price increase if people want to go down that route.

When you break it down, it's a pretty terrible offer in terms of incentives based on this season's prices, yet it's being advertised as some sort of fantastic deal. Somehow, I don't see too many people being fooled by it. The only people it'll appeal to are those, like myself, who were planning to renew anyway and I'll certainly have a feeling of resentment at being asked to part with my cash while this season is still in progress to simply be able to secure the price I paid this season.

Also, I've just spotted that the "admin fee" for the installment option is either £20 or £35 depending on whether you do the 5 month or 10 month installment plan. If it's an admin fee then surely the price of administering this shouldn't change, depending on which box on the form you tick.

Do the BFC board seriously believe people are stupid enough to fall for the "interest free (with asterisk)" claim when the admin fee applied to it correlates directly to the length of time you want to pay the installments over? Call me cynical, but that seems to work in the same way as a ....um.....er.....oh what was the name again?......oh yes, got in now......INTEREST CHARGE!!!

Well said. I fell shafted by the club seeing as I was planning on saving the money over the next 3 months to pay for next seasons at end of June (like I have done every year for years). There are plenty out there who can't grasp that though.

FFS what a load of rubbish.
People said it would be a good thing and moaned and moaned at the club.
They impliment the idea and people moan.

I had a chat with a leeds fan and after i told him the moaning what some of you do on here he just started laughing and said. Fecking hell, they are jokes.
Leeds fans get slightly less time to get together twice plus the amount.

FFS we've got bril ticket/ season ticket prices and i dont like agreeing with leeds fan mate or not mate. But i have to which makes me RED faced to the Max.

That's it then, if your Leeds fan mate says we are all jokes we must be. FFS why do you have to be such a moron all the time? Is Mummy paying for yours? Or Daddy? Grandad maybe? Or the good old taxpayer?

I think the 1912 systems good. i think we are cheaper than hull and leeds in terms of ST and MDT. I think the earlybird tickets a good idea and barnsley have done everything right with this idea.

Except for calling it a discount. Which it isn't. It's a delay on an increase!

In YOUR opinion (and not some bloke from leeds who hasn't got a clue about BFC or its fans) do you believe that the club gave enough notice of the early bird 'offer' considering that they have never done anything like this before? Remember that anyone paid monthly had ONE paycheck to take over £300 out of with no advance notice whatsoever.

I understand that other clubs give similarly short notice but the big difference is that their fans are EXPECTING an early bird deadline, we weren't because there wasn't a peep out of the club until suddenly they said 'give us all the money after your next pay check or your ticket is going up'. It came totally out of the blue and in my opinion that isn't on.

Do you feel that calling it a discount is stretching the truth a little considering there is NO discount on last years prices, merely a delay in an increase. 'early bird price freeze' is correct, 'early bird discount' in my opinion is false.

Do you believe that the club has lived up to its promises of rewarding those who bought a season ticket last year? If so where is said offer as I am unable to find it.

    Get a fcukin grip kid.
Just because the biggest money-grabbing barstard of a chairman charges obscene prices at Bellend Road DOES NOT make our own prices better. We are in the same division as Leeds but thats where similarities end.
And do tell me where on this board, we moaned at the club asking for this gash early bird scheme?
I remember many of us asking for the opportunity to pay a lot sooner, yes. BUT, simpleton, that was IF the club were to go with the £125 ST idea.
The club have shafted many of the core supporters once again. I said it t'other day - would Alton Towers rip out 5 or 6 main attractions, and give piss-poor customer service, only to the INCREASE admission prices?
No, because thats bad business, and short-termism. But then again, **** all surprises me anymore with this club.
Btw Hemsworth, care to explain to Ponty why you think its a great deal? Also, who is purchasing your ST for next season?
