Re: well when Jay has lost belief then I know its serious. The light at the end of the tunnel is receding fast.
Re: It's not as if he rated Vaz Te that highly vaz te had the last dig when he stuck that one in ,in front of the ponty,,got to admit he showed us some respect tho'.
Re: It's not as if he rated Vaz Te that highly I know what you mean but I always thought it was obvious he was hit and miss with us, Portsmouth away a prime example. But he was getting that consistency in November, December and January that he's kept up since going to West Ham. Yeah he was on the bench some times but so was Davies, Drinkwater etc. Doesn't mean he didn't rate him. Let's be reight - Vaz Te has surprised most fowk with the impact he's had at West Ham so he needs to take credit for that, but he also owes us and Hill/Flitcroft a lot for spotting something in him and working with him. Let's just hope/pray he can do it again.
I'm probably being unfair But I'm annoyed and I just don't think Keith Hill is anywhere near up to it. I perhaps wouldn't be quite as annoyed if the gulf between how good Keith Hill thinks he is and how good he actually is wasn't as big as the moon.
Re: I'm probably being unfair Everyone's f.cked off and so they should be. Any one that's happy with everything at the minute is mental. But I can't get the monk on with 'em too much cos they are the hardest working Barnsley side I've ever seen and try to laik proper football. And I always bairned on abart us not relying on Cryne's money and only spending what we can afford and it seems we're doing that. Whether another gaffer would've done any better than Hill is debatable n all. I can't wait to go to Hull and Bristol.
If JLWBL is in the same frame of mind as Jay then we are truly doomed Kev is totally laid back about it all, so if he were to come on with similar views as Jay then we are screwed
Re: I'm probably being unfair Do you really believe they work harder than any other Barnsley side?? I think that's an easy thing to say about players that have very little talent. I also think the style of football has been poor this calendar year. We've looked clueless for the most part.
Re: I'm probably being unfair Genuinely do. We do have little talent - we lost most of that in January in one form or another - but I still actually like watching us.
Re: I'm probably being unfair this calender year has been just about as sh ite as anything i can remember,we are completely clueless, end of,not even a glimpse of hope,,i cant bring myself to say owt else.
Re: I'm probably being unfair I've just accepted we're ****. Maybe Keith's biggest achievement this year has been to reduce expectations to below zero.
Re: I'm probably being unfair well he has been doing that in more or less every single interview since august...all this over achieving ballax,,,i for one will not accept that we should be in league 1,cause for me thats what he's implied..
Re: I'm probably being unfair He's implied we've got a L1 budget to work to and it seems we have. What's galling is Watford will probably have something similar to us, but maybe a bit more. They rejected bids for their players in January and they're on about 60 points. If we'd just managed to keep Drinkwater & Vaz Te maybe we would've done something. The key to me was when Butterfield got injured. Maybe if we'd sold him in Jan we could've kept those two. Who knows. It's the memories of how f.cking good we were in November/December that's making me keep a bit of faith with Hill et al and the loss of his entire midfield since - I just hope he can do it again next year.
It has been a shocking run of results with nowt much to get excited about. I am actually struggling to remember a worse run. But, the team that took us down to the 3rd tier ten year ago were far worse to watch, and I havent got angry at games during THIS run, wheras during that relegation season I was vitriolic quite often. Maybe it was being 19 year old or sumat? But the likes of Regan, Brown, Jones, Naylor and Donovan etc were a disgrace to the shirt. I cant honestly say that any of our current lads are that. Some - Wiseman, JayMac, Dagnall, Nouble - are nowhere near good enough (at present), but they arent a disgrace and they get my support. I look at our squad now, when all are available, and I still believe we should be well clear of any relegation fears. And that leaves me wondering about our managers ability. It cannot be coincidence that we havent come from behind to win, in 45 league and cup games. And, we had Vaz, Drinky and Jake for a 20 odd of those games, so its something about Mary (Keith)
Watford have probably got a proper board though with ideas of how to maximise what they have. The thing is re the budget tho. It is what it was at the start of the season ie 6 times what he had at Rochdale unless there's been some jiggery pokery by the powers that be and we need to stop banging on abart it. Believe in what you've got Keith. Don't live in the past!
