People on here are getting upset cos we finished just above relegation zone.Well people will know Tina, she lost her mother in law last week, then on Sunday my cousin passed away too.Why do people get upset over a sport when theres more things important?
Very sad news about you and Tina. It's a shame she doesn't come on here anymore. I guess people get upset about sport because there is no point wasting your money watching it if you can't be passionate about it and care what happens.
Why does that mean people can't get worked up over the state of their football club though? We all have different interets/passions/past times/ that have a big importance in our lives. I don't think anyone would even try to compare it to a death of a relative but to say it's not important means we wouldn't be bothered about anything in life.
I agree there are more important things in life, but it's about where you are at that time. When we got relegated in 2002 my mum had died a couple of months previously, made me put the relegation in perspective but I was still gutted...in fact it felt like everything was against me that year! My dad died in 2008, his funeral was the day before we beat Liverpool in the cup, but that win gave me the first smile on my face in 2 weeks, it was as though that was for my old man. Condolences on your loss, and Tina's, but you know Wayne, that you'll soon be back to getting worked up over the goings on at Oakwell.......if only the fortunes of BFC was the worst that befell us, it's not, but different things affect us all differently, depending on where we are in life!
